Star Wars -Themed Lands Coming to Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts Today at the D23 EXPO 2015, The Walt Disney Company Chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced to an audience of more than 7,500 fans that Star Wars-themed lands will be coming to Disneyland park in Anaheim, Calif., and Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla., allowing Star Wars fans to step into the stories from a galaxy far, far away. Lucasfilm announced today that their first film in the new standalone Star Wars stories series, “ Rogue One ,” has begun principal photography. Gareth Edwards (“Godzilla,” “Monsters”) is directing “Rogue One,” which tells the story of resistance fighters who have united to steal plans to the dreaded Death Star. Today at D23, Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn confirmed that writer-director Colin Trevorrow will direct Star Wars: Episode IX , which is set for release in 2019. Heroic Hollywood scooped this confirmation a few few weeks ago. Chris Evans (Captain America) and Anthony Mackie (Falcon) flew in from Germany, where the film is completing its final week of shooting. Civil War is set to pit a team of anti-superhero registration heroes led by Captain America ( Evans ) against pro-registration forces led by Iron Man ( Downey ). THR is reporting Antoine Fuqua will direct the follow-up to his 2001 feature film of the same name. TV's big remake push is showing no signs of slowing down. In a competitive situation, CBS has handed out a hefty pilot-production commitment to a Training Day follow-up based on the 2001 film of the same name, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Based on the feature film from Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow Pictures, the potential series will take place 15 years after the movie. The planned Training Day series is set in the LAPD of 2015. ( Ethan Hawke and Denzel Washington starred in the feature.) Antoine Fuqua, who directed the feature film, will helm the pilot, which was written by feature writer and former LAPD detective Will Beall.
