PHOENIX FILM FESTIVAL INTRODUCES THE SUMMER SHOWCASE FROM AUGUST 10th – 13th Phoenix Film Festival is making 2015 a landmark year with the inaugural of the Phoenix Film Festival Summer Showcase taking place from August 10th to the 13th, at the Harkins Scottsdale 101, with each showing starting at 7 pm. Review by Matt Cummings Actor Tom Cruise has always maintained a special place in SandwichJohn's heart; thankfully, he asks me to write these reviews. Truth be told, I am also a fan of Cruise, and who could blame us? His recent movies ( Oblivion , Jack Reacher , Edge of Tomorrow ) consistently rank among my favorites, and his respect for the fans has done much to repair his wounded status as a tool for Scientology. By Brandon Wolfe The customary lag time between Mission: Impossible sequels has averaged roughly five years over the series’ two decades, but it now seems that Ethan Hunt’s missions will start to become far more frequent. Tom Cruise revealed this week on The Daily Show that plans are in place to begin shooting the sixth Mission next summer, presumably for release in 2017. "We're starting to work on [ Mission: Impossible 6 ] now,” Cruise said. “We'll probably start shooting it next summer [in 2016]." No writers nor director are currently attached to the next entry, but given the series’ penchant for constant creative turnover, don’t expect Rogue Nation ’s Christopher McQuarrie back in the saddle. However, before Cruise returns to the IMF, he will complete the currently filming Doug Liman film Mena and then go to work on the Jack Reacher sequel, as well as potentially the long-time-coming Top Gun follow-up.
