Suffice to say, some have survived their first trial and are being whisked away to an uncertain future. As the title implies, they’re not off for drinks and a spot of post-Maze downtime. Check out the weaponry. Marvel at the true grit. Imagine the industrial zone in that old C4 telly stalwart, The Crystal Maze, only presided over with demonic zeal by a psychotic Mumsy: that’s where the young cadre find themselves. It’s a hardscrabble landscape filled with horrors they must surmount as they t

TV Review: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. “Who You Really Are”

I Sif returns, Skye shakes, viewers yawn. Review by Brandon Wolfe Pity poor Jaimie Alexander. As one of the few members of the Marvel Cinematic Universe low enough on the totem pole to be accessible for TV, she keeps getting roped back into Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Lady Sif returns this week for her second appearance on the series. It’s not that Alexander isn’t welcome on the show, but she very clearly is being utilized not because Sif makes perfect sense as a regular popover to Coulson’s tiny, earthbound corner of the universe, but because she’s a much easier “get” than a Robert Downey Jr. or a Scarlett Johansson, whose characters would make infinitely more sense crossing paths on a frequent basis with S.H.I.E.L.D. I guess you work with what you have. Anyway, Sif wanders out of the ocean one night in Portugal with no memory of who she is (because amnesia is a device used only by the finest of shows). It isn’t long before her superhuman exploits land on Team Coulson’s radar

Big Bang Theory Guest Star Adds Interesting Twist

Wolowitz Loses A Mother But Gains A Brother Story by David Clark It was announced this week that Matt Bennett has been tagged to play John, Howard Wolowitz’s (Simon Helberg) younger brother. Bennett is perhaps best known for his roles in the movie Bridesmaids and the television series Victorious. This is an interesting direction for the show to go with the Wolowitz storyline. Howard has always been portrayed as a ‘momma’s boy’ and an only child. Using the words attached-at-the-hip would hardly describe the awkward and sometimes inappropriate relationship between Howard and his mother - played by the recently deceased Carol Ann Susi. Other than vague references to an absent father there has never been an indication that Howard has other family in the world - Enter Matt Bennett. In a recent interview showrunner Steve Molaro said, “The passing of Mrs. Wolowitz left the door open to explore more of Howard’s family.” Molaro has also expressed interest in further exp
