BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Jack Huston As Doctor Strange?

We’re in that fuzzy, transitional period where a film moves from the vapourware status to reality in the evolution of Marvel’s Doctor Strange . With Scott Derrickson confirmed to direct, the casting rumors for the title character have been flying thick and fast, landing on various known quantities such as Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hardy, Jared Leto and, during Comic-Con, Joaquin Phoenix , who was reportedly in early talks. The latest name to add to the list? Jack Huston . While he may not be as well known as some of those above, Huston’s hardly a newcomer. He’s been paying his dues for several years on screens both big and small, appearing in Boardwalk Empire, Factory Girl, Kill Your Darlings and last year’s American Hustle . He’ll next be seen in the Nicholas Sparks adaptation The Longest Ride and recently won the role of Mr. Wickham in Pride And Prejudice And Zombies . Though he might be considered on the young side for the Sorcerer Supreme, he carries the benefit of ada

GOT's Director Neil Marshall Wants To Make A Black Widow Film

The question of whether or not Marvel Studios will ever make a Black Widow movie is one that remains on both the lips and minds of many fans — and, it turns out, some filmmakers, as well. Neil Marshall , director of The Descent, Centurion and episodes of Game of Thrones , isn’t just interested in watching such a movie: He’d like to make it. “I think I’d like to do a big movie with a strong female lead, whether or not she would be a superhero,” Marshall told Vanity Fair, making it clear by adding, “ I would love to do a Black Widow movie.” Describing the character — played by Scarlett Johansson in the Captain America and Avengers movies — as “perfect,” he went on to say that he found the character “really interesting, she doesn’t have any superpowers, she just has extraordinary skills, and the world that she comes from, being this ex-K.G.B. assassin, I find that really fascinating, yeah.” The lack of superpowers is a plus for Marshall, as he complained that he “can’t identi

Mary Elizabeth Winstead Joins The Cellar

She battled an ancient alien creature in The Thing and, even more impressively, escaped both A Good Day To Die Hard and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter with her dignity largely intact. Now, however, Mary Elizabeth Winstead will have to deal with a nasty kidnapper in The Cellar . J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot team is working this one up alongside the lower budget Paramount Vantage label. Dan Trachtenberg is aboard to direct Josh Campbell, Matthew Stuecken and Dan Casey’s script, which follows a young woman waking up underground following a nasty car accident. Her captor claims to be a rescuer, and reveals himself as a doomsday obsessive who says the world outside has become uninhabitable thanks to a serious chemical attack. But as her worries for her safety start to rise, our heroine must escape and risk whatever lurks beyond the cellar door… Please Leave A Comment- Source- Empire

Chris Hemsworth Joins The Cast For 'Vacation' Update

Chris Hemsworth and Charlie Day are taking a little Vacation. The actors are in negotiations to sign on for roles in New Line’s reboot-slash-remake to the classic 1980s comedy series that starred Chevy Chase . John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein wrote the script and are making their directorial debut. The new movie sees Ed Helms starring as Rusty Griswold, the grown-up son of Clark Griswold ( Chase ) who takes his family on a road trip similar to the one he and his parents and sister took when he was young. Christina Applegate is on board as Rusty’s wife. Chase and Beverly D’Angelo are to make cameos in the movie, which begins shooting in September after having been delayed. Hemsworth , who sources say has been itching to do a comedy for awhile, will play Stone Crandall, an up-and-coming anchorman and the husband of Rusty’s sister, Audrey. The latter part has not yet been cast. Day will cameo as a river-rafting guide. The new movie is based on characters create

Shutter Island Series Titled "Ashecliffe" Coming To HBO

As the TV biz prepares to celebrate another ground breaking year tonight, underwritten in no small effort by feature talent, the remarkable thing to consider is how much more of this is coming. Here’s one that has great potential: HBO and Paramount Television are making deals to turn the 2010 hit film Shutter Island into a TV series. Tentatively titled Ashecliffe , the plan is for the pilot to be directed by Martin Scorsese from a script by Dennis Lehane, who wrote the bestselling thriller novel that Scorsese and screenwriter Laeta Kalogridis turned into the hit film that Leonardo DiCaprio starred in. Amityville: The Awakening Trailer Has Risen Starring @bellathorne

The terrifying based-on-a-true-story Amityville Horror franchise has been screeching back into life every few years. The 1979 original spawned several sequels (some went straight to DVD etc) and a reboot in 2005. Here comes yet another reset, with Dimension Films altering the story slightly for Amityville: The Awakening . This go-around finds Jennifer Jason Leigh as a single mother moving with her three children into the familiar house, hoping for a fresh start. Things have not been easy for them – daughter Belle ( Bella Thorne ) is reacting like your usual movie teenager to the idea of starting over at a new school, younger daughter Julie ( Mckenna Grace ) is at that adorable, hyperactive moppet stage and son James ( Cameron Monaghan ) is bed-ridden in a coma with injuries that doctors predict he may never overcome. Watch the trailer after the Jump... So what they really don’t need is for horrifying supernatural events to start up, including odd dreams, haunting messages on

Guardians Of The Galaxy Back On Top

Guardians soared once more. Stay seemed to linger reasonably enough, while Sin City suffered a bad time of it, enduring the sort of punishment that feels like you’re being hit in the face by a concrete slab. All in all, an interesting weekend at the US box office. The big winner was Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy , which roared back to the top of the charts after spending a couple of weeks in second place, and that despite being out in theaters for a month now. Clearly audiences were ready for more from Star-Lord and the gang and the space oddities are now enjoying the highest domestic gross for any film at the US box office in 2014 ( Transformers: Age Of Extinction clings to the worldwide top spot like a robot with a locked servo). Guardians took in $17.6 million this weekend, pushing it to $251.8 million in the States and $489.4 million globally. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was pushed down to second place after a couple of weeks at the top, earning $16.8 million this we

Sin City - A Dame to Kill For Review: Uninspired Overly-Sexualized Follow-up

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For knows what it wants, but utterly misses in its execution. The folly of returning to an old franchise nearly 10 years after it was made has proven to be difficult at best and disastrous at worst. Whether it's expectation or the passage of time, film series that see such lapses hardly ever work out. This year's 300: Rise of an Empire was engaging in its leads, but it failed to attract audiences who saw the original as their Holy Bible of Violence. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For only strengthens my theory that all series have a shelf life. Wrapping three stories of life in crime-ridden Sin City, we follow the further adventures of the bruiser Marv (Mickey Rourke), dancer Nancy (Jessica Alba), and anti-hero Dwight (Josh Brolin), as well as new ones by the gambler Johnny (Joseph Gordon-Levitt). Some want money, others respect, and a couple just want to wash away their demons. But the city always throws up obstacles like Senator Roark (Power
