BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

GOT's Director Neil Marshall Wants To Make A Black Widow Film

The question of whether or not Marvel Studios will ever make a Black Widow movie is one that remains on both the lips and minds of many fans — and, it turns out, some filmmakers, as well. Neil Marshall, director of The Descent, Centurion and episodes of Game of Thrones, isn’t just interested in watching such a movie: He’d like to make it.

“I think I’d like to do a big movie with a strong female lead, whether or not she would be a superhero,” Marshall told Vanity Fair, making it clear by adding, “I would love to do a Black Widow movie.”

Describing the character — played by Scarlett Johansson in the Captain America and Avengers movies — as “perfect,” he went on to say that he found the character “really interesting, she doesn’t have any superpowers, she just has extraordinary skills, and the world that she comes from, being this ex-K.G.B. assassin, I find that really fascinating, yeah.”

The lack of superpowers is a plus for Marshall, as he complained that he “can’t identify with [superpowered characters]. Very rarely do they get killed off, and when they do get killed off, chances are they’re going to be back… somehow.”

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has, in the past, said that such a project was “in development” (indeed, Guardians of the Galaxy writer Nicole Perlman confirmed that she had worked on the project in 2010 on social media), but the project appears to be dead, at least temporarily.

Last month, Feige said that he hoped Marvel would create a movie focusing on a solo female lead “sooner rather than later,” while Victoria Alonso told fans that Johansson was “a little bit busy being very pregnant right now” when asked about the possibility at this year’s Women in Marvel panel at San Diego Comic-Con.
With Marshall offering his interest, it would seem like a no-brainer to resurrect the possibility if at all possible (after all, Marvel has prior experience working with Game of Thrones directors). Maybe it’s time to see if Scarlett would be interested in spending some more time wiping out the red in her ledger, following her next appearance as the Black Widow in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim
