Scarlett Johansson is in talks to join the Coen brothers’ drama “ Hail Caesar .” Jonah Hill is also in talks to join the cast. She would join Josh Brolin and George Clooney. Channing Tatum, Tilda Swinton and Ralph Fiennes are also in negotiations to co-star. Universal will distribute with the Coens producing, along with Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan for Working Title Films. The story follows a Hollywood fixer in the 1950s who is working to keep a studio’s stars in line. Johansson will play an actress who suddenly becomes pregnant as her film is about to go into production. It’s a good fit, since Johansson announced in March that she was pregnant. She is engaged to Romain Dauriac. The plan is to go into production this fall and given the size of the cast, Johansson’s role is not expected to take very long to shoot. Brad Furman has come aboard to direct Sylvester Stallone in Scarpa for Avi Lerner’s Millennium Films, a high-profile project currently being pulled together and one they hope to put before the cameras next year, possibly in the first quarter. The project will be produced by Irwin Winkler (Rocky). Stallone will star as Gregory Scarpa, a former capo and enforcer (hitman) for the Colombo crime family known as the Grim Reaper. The script is by crime aficionado Nicholas Pileggi, whose screenplay for Goodfellas was nominated for an Oscar and whose Casino was also critically acclaimed. (And, btw, he should have been nominated again for Casino which he adapted from his own book). Both were directed by Martin Scorsese. Stallone would play one of the best-known sociopaths in organized crime — a man who murdered for the family, suspected in the murders of his own biological family, then turned FBI informant (like many of the wise guys end up doing). Every year, offsite events surrounding San Diego Comic-Con get just a little bigger, a little better — and FOX has stepped up its game in a huge way for 2014. Variety is reporting several offsite experiences around the convention center, promoting Sleepy Hollow and Gotham . Here’s the list of offsites events after the Jump... Sleppy Hollow fans can head to the Petco Interactive Zone (the parking lot beside Petco Park) for the “Sleepy Hollow Virtual Reality Experience, which will be open Thursday-Sunday from 9AM-6PM daily. There, attendees will be “transported” via an Oculus Rift headset (that we got a peek at the other day) into a virtual reality Sleepy Hollow experience, where they will be chased by a headless horseman. Variety is also reporting that cast and creative will make an appearance, which perhaps mean an offsite autograph signing.
