Why Die Hard Is Perfect Valentine's Day Movie

From the " Twilight " trilogy to the tearjerkers adapted from Nicholas Sparks novels to nearly every film where Matthew McConaughey takes off his shirt, let's face it: Most cinematic love stories are made for women. Sound crazy? Stick with me. The 1988 original stars Bruce Willis as John McClane, a sarcastic New York cop visiting his estranged wife Holly ( Bonnie Bedelia ) and his two children in California. When he arrives at Holly's office Christmas party, the tension in their relationship is immediately evident. Holly is using her maiden name again and John doesn't even plan to stay with his family while he's in town. There's no doubt that John loves his wife and wants to rekindle the romance, but he can't seem to admit it. But while John proves incapable of communicating his feelings to his wife verbally, an opportunity arises allowing him to prove his devotion to her. Midway through the party, a team of terrorists led by the stylish H

Safe Haven Review. Bring A Kleenex Box With You

Safe Haven Review By:Ursula  I want to thank our guest reviewer Ursula for her review for Safe Haven. Be sure to check back to see what MattInRC thought of the film. Safe Haven is a suspenseful story about Katie, ( Julianne Hough ) running from the law to find peace, quiet and safety. She comes upon the beautiful seaside port in Southport, North Carolina. On a whim, she steps off the bus, breathes in the sea air, and decides to stay. She is jumpy, keeps to herself and is looking to settle in quietly without any commotion. While constantly on the defense, she manages to get a job at the local Crab Shack and rent a cozy little shabby chic (more shabby than chic) house off the grid and deep into the woods of the little town. The local shop owner Alex, ( Josh Duhamel ) is a widower with two adorable children. He helps his uncle run the town grocery. Alex notices Katie immediately and forgets his mourning. Fortunately for him his daughter has his interests in mind and lures Katie

Beautiful Creatures Review. Creatures Is An Early Standout

Beautiful Creatures Review By: MattInRC The surprisingly good Beautiful Creatures is everything Twilight wanted to be, but never could. Call me someone who doesn't bend to social trends, but I never understood the obsession with Twilight: poorly cast and written for 5 year-olds, Kristen Stewart mumbled, stumbled, and put us to sleep before starring in real movies like Snow White and The Huntsman . Thankfully, I never read the books, but they couldn't have been as bad as one of the most disappointing film franchises in history. Now that its sun has gratefully set, we can all now seek more intelligent fare, and Beautiful Creatures might just be the thing. A little sexy and way more fun, the movie about witches in a small town is appealing in almost every way. The town of Gatlin, South Carolina is...well...a little backward. Content to exist under the old traditions of a post-Civil War town, its residents are a God-fearing people and look upon any change as

International Trailer For Oblivion

Here is the new international trailer for Oblivion . Oblivion, directed by Tron Legacy’s Joseph Kosinski , takes place in a world where Earth has been badly damaged by decades of war with an alien race known as the Scavs. Most of the population lives above the planet, but Cruise’s Jack Harper is a drone repairman, stationed on the Earth to keep the robo-guardians of the place active against enemy incursion. But his mission is interrupted when he rescues a beautiful stranger ( Andrea Riseborough ) from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that makes him question everything he knows… (Cue dramatic musical string, which we’d guess might be an Inception-style parp of horns). Here is a new clip clip from DEAD MAN DOWN , starring Noomi Rapace , director Niels Arden Oplev has mostly worked on TV projects and developing other movies. Hugh Laurie In Talks To Star In Tomorrowland

Hugh Laurie is in negotiations to play the villain in Tomorrowland , Disney’s top secret sci-fi project starring George Clooney and being directed by Brad Bird . The plot of the movie project, which until a couple of weeks ago was being called 1952 , is under lock and key, though it has been described as being in the vein of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Steven Spielberg’s 1978 movie about a man searching for extra-terrestrials on Earth. All that is known about Laurie’s character is that he serves as the movie’s antagonist. Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof co-wrote the script with Jeff Jensen, an editor at Entertainment Weekly. The pedigree of Bird and Lindelof, their standing in the geek community and the force field of secrecy enveloping the project have raised interest in Tomorrowland. Laurie is best known for his Emmy-nominated starring role as the brilliant but cold title character in Fox's House M.D. which ran from 2004-12. The show kept him busy, but he d
