BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Trouble With The Curve Review

Trouble With the Curve Review By: MattInRC Is the feel-good baseball flick Trouble With the Curve another Clint Eastwood classic, or is it doomed for the minor leagues? Warning: major plot spoilers ahead. A common thread binds my favorite sports flicks Field of Dreams and Hoosiers : both suggest that the uniquely-crafted American games upon which they are based are so ingrained into our country's fabric that to remove one would be tantamount to severing a healthy extremity from our bodies. Oscar hopeful Trouble With The Curve challenges us to attach the same significance, but fails in its decidedly dull and slow pace. Atlanta Braves scout Gus ( Clint Eastwood , Heartbreak Ridge) is a crotchety old-school judge of baseball character whose declining health becomes a concern to daughter Mickey ( Amy Adams , The Muppets) and Gus' boss Pete Klein ( John Goodman , O Brother, Where Art Thou?). Klein and family go way back, but Gus is on the hot seat to return

Guillermo del Toro To Deliver The Strain

FX is going into business with Guillermo del Toro and Lost's Carlton Cuse. The male-leaning network is near a deal for a pilot order to The Strain , an adaptation of the book trilogy by del Toro and Chuck Hogan, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. First published in 2009, the series revolves around a vampire virus that infects New York and the CDC doctor, Ephraim "Eph" Goodweather, who investigates the case. Del Toro and Hogan, who co-penned the three-book series first published in 2009, will co-write the pilot with Lost's Cuse on board to help develop the project should it go to series and serve as an executive producer and showrunner. Sequels to the Strain include 2010's The Fall and the final installment, 2011's The Night Eternal. The project comes two days after the Oscar-nominated writer-director behind films including Pan's Labrynth and Hellboy -- alongside Southland scribe Sara Gran -- optioned Corrine May Botz's Nutshell Studies t

Baywatch Film Has Found It's Director

Summer may officially be over tomorrow, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t grab your rescue can and head for the beach, anyway: Our spies tell us that Reno 911 ! co-creator and star Robert Ben Garant will direct Paramount Pictures’ comedy adaptation of the David Hasselhoff–Pamela Anderson series, Baywatch , doing for that long-running series what Reno 911! did for COPS. The script is courtesy of Peter Tolan (creator of Rescue Me), who only a year ago had said that his take on the material was more akin to Stripes than the self-serious syndicated series’ mien, which makes sense, since Baywatch is being produced by Stripes director Ivan Reitman. Less clear is what Ben Garant's arrival means for the Tolan script, as Ben Garant is also the screenwriter of Fox's Night at the Museum franchise and may have ideas of his own. In the meantime, Ben Garant is in post-production on Hell Baby, a macabre comedy he co-directed and co-wrote with his old Reno 911! co-creator and co-st

A Knight’s Tale Series Coming To ABC

A Knight’s Tale , the 2001 feature starring Heath Ledger, is headed to the small screen in a series adaptation written by Battlestar Galactica developer/executive producer Ron Moore. ABC has bought the project, from Sony Pictures TV, with a script commitment. The Knight’s Tale feature was a 14th century romantic adventure set in the world of jousting to a music score of popular rock songs that centered on William Thatcher (Ledger), a peasant posing as a knight. The series is expected to stay close to the premise and the style of the movie — it is described as a medieval fantasy incorporating modern music and themes that follows the journey of a young man who starts out impersonating a knight of the realm and ends up becoming one. In addition to writing, Moore is executive producing with his producing partner at Tall Ship Prods. Maril Davis as well as the film’s writer-director-producer Brian Helgeland and producer Todd Black. The title is part of the Sony library as the movie, wh

PROMISED LAND Trailer. What Would You Do?

We got our hands on the first trailer for  PROMISED LAND , the film directed by Gus Van Sant and starring Matt Damon, John Krasinski, Rosemarie DeWitt, Frances McDormand, Hal Holbrook and Titus Welliver . Written by Damon and Krasinski and based on a story by Dave Eggers, the film tells the story of corporate salesman Steve Butler ( Damon ), who seeks drilling rights in distressed communities, and local man Dustin Noble ( Krasinski ), who looks to oppose the sale.  Promised Land is the new contemporary drama directed by Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting, Milk). Matt Damon plays Steve Butler, an ace corporate salesman who is sent along with his partner, Sue Thomason (Frances McDormand), to close a key rural town in his company’s expansion plans. With the town having been hit hard by the economic decline of recent years, the two outsiders see the local citizens as likely to accept their company’s offer, for drilling rights to their properties, as much-needed relief. What seems like an

END OF WATCH Review. Not Just Another Cop Movie

END OF WATCH Review  By: RAMA  Was this just another buddy cop movie? Let's find out what RAMA thought of the movie. It’s interesting that this movie opens the same weekend as DREDD 3D , which is about a judge, jury executioner, basically a cop that is allowed to take matters into his own hands, whereas END OF WATCH is about a couple of cops who want to be vigilantes or more than they are, because of good intentions, but it blows up in their faces. That said, END OF WATCH is a powerful cop drama/thriller that respects the good men and women in uniform fighting day and night in a war zone that’s as real as it gets… From the writer of Training Day, END OF WATCH is a riveting action thriller that puts audiences at the center of the chase like never before. Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña star as young LA police officers who discover a secret that makes them the target of the country’s most dangerous drug cartel.  Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena play of

DREDD 3D Review. How Does It Compare To Original?

DREDD 3D Review  By: RAMA So how does this film compare to the original? RAMA is here to let us know. We need to thank scribe Alex Garland and director Peter Travis for making a badass DREDD movie that would erase those cheesy Sly Stallone Dredd moments from our memory forever. DREDD 3D is hardcore, visceral, and no-holds barred. With stunning slo-mo sequences and stylish ultra-realistic 3D, the violence becomes something that’s irresistible. The level of fun that DREDD 3D offers is kind of like Punisher: War Zone, and by that I mean, this movie does its job, serves its purposes and satisfied R-rated action fans everywhere… The future America is an irradiated waste land. On its East Coast, running from Boston to Washington DC, lies Mega City One- a vast, violent metropolis where criminals rule the chaotic streets. The only force of order lies with the urban cops called “Judges” who possess the combined powers of judge, jury and instant executioner. Known and fea

'Les Miserables' Featurette Is Here

For all its pedigree (Victor Hugo! Broadway!), its acting talent (Jackman! Hathaway! Crowe!) and breathtaking set design, the thing that Universal wants you to remember most about Les Miserables , it seems, is its music. The singing, you see, is done live. This extended look at the upcoming, Tom Hooper-directed musical adaptation offers plenty over which to salivate, but its main point of emphasis is that, unlike most musicals on screen, its talented cast sang while acting. That means, as Eddie Redmayne and Hugh Jackman put it, the performers can make their acting decisions while in the heat of the moment, instead of before filming ever starts. The film features plenty of exciting follicle decisions, as well, including Jackman's scraggly beard and Hathaway's butchered semi-shave. Don't be alarmed; they clean up real well. Watch the featurette after the Jump... Les Miserables hits theaters on Christmas. Please Leave A Comment-  Source- THR

James Gandolfini To Star In Criminal Justice

The Sopranos star James Gandolfini is a step closer to returning to HBO‘s drama lineup with a starring role in the network’s Criminal Justice. HBO has given a pilot order to the drama project, written by Oscar nominee Richard Price (The Color Of Money) and to be directed by Oscar-wining writer Steven Zaillian (Schindler’s List). Criminal Justice is a New York-set crime drama loosely based on the acclaimed 2008 BBC series of the same name created by Peter Moffat. Joining the ensemble cast led by Gandolfini are Rizwan Ahmed, Bill Camp, Peyman Moadi and Poorna Jagannathan . The original series consisted of two five-episode seasons, each chronicling the journey of a person charged with murder through the justice system, and each featuring new characters and cast. HBO’s version follows the plot of the first season of the British series, which starred Ben Whishaw as Ben Coulter, a man who takes his father’s cab for a drive and picks up a party girl who takes him to her apartment for a
