BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

The Avengers Sunk My Battleship

SATURDAY 9 AM, 5TH UPDATE: These official Friday and weekend numbers for North America are worse than anyone expected. Everything is tanking except Marvel’s The Avengers which sucked all the air out of the box office for the 3rd straight weekend. Today it will become the highest grossing domestic release in Disney’s history. Joss Whedon’s superhero assembly is already the studio’s highest grossing film of all time globally, and will pass the $450M mark this weekend. It is currently the #6 film of all time globally, the #10 film of all time domestically, and the #9 film of all time internationally. The new foreign gross is $682.6M and domestic $417.3M for a global cume of $1.099.9M. Demonstrating just how disastrous the new movies are opening, audiences gave Universal’s Battleship only a ‘B’ CinemaScore, Lionsgate’s What To Expect When You’re Expecting a ‘B-’, and Paramount’s The Dictator a ‘C’. So don’t expect word of mouth to improve these numbers. Overall moviegoing this weeken

Mark Wahlberg To Star In The Disciple Program

Universal has won a bidding war to pick up The Disciple Program , a thriller script that has Mark Wahlberg attached to star. Morten Tyldum, who directed the Swedish thriller Headhunters, is attached to direct the project, which was written by newcomer Tyler Marceca. The screenplay centers on a man who begins an investigation into his wife’s mysterious death, only to find that the mystery goes much deeper than he imagined. Wahlberg and Steve Levinson are producing. The real story here is Marceca. An unsigned writer from Brooklyn, he wrote ten pages as part of a screenwriting contest run by The Writer’s Store. He later completed the script and submitted it to an online script review site called Script Shadow. In most cases, the site features scripts that are already making the rounds throughout Hollywood. Disciple Program came out of left field and in February became the only amateur screenplay to reach the site’s top-ten list. That caused a veritable feeding frenzy at the

BATTLESHIP Review By: Matt C

BATTLESHIP Review By: Matt C Matt delivers another great movie review and hits it on the mark. BATTLESHIP is a clean miss that borrows too much and inspires too little. Hollywood must really be desperate these days: it's bad enough that audiences have endured reboots ad nausiem, but when we see movies based on popular board games, it's time for an intervention. Take the most recent example of an industry about to go squarely off the tracks  BATTLESHIP -. It looks like Transformers , feels like Top Gun with a hint of Star Trek, and its premise is a mish-mash of several noteworthy alien invasion flicks. While I will admit the ocean backdrop looks and sounds terrific, it's the story which takes on water early. Filled with more cliches than an interview with an NBA player and reeking of second-rate talent, Battleship plods on too long at the beginning and only somewhat redeems itself at the end by parading real-life veterans in front of the cameras to man the old USS

Alex Cross Images. Get Matthew Fox Some Food

Here are the first images from the upcoming film Alex Cross based on James Patterson adaptation I,Alex Cross . Which originally starred Morgan Freeman as Cross in Kiss The Girls and then Along Came a Spider . Matthew Fox looks just sick, someone get this guy something to eat. The film  Tyler Perry, Matthew Fox, Edward Burns, Jean Reno, Rachel Nichols , directed by Rob Cohen . Alex Cross follows the homicide detective/psychologist ( Perry ), from the worldwide best-selling novels by James Patterson, as he meets his match in a serial killer ( Fox ). The two face off in a high-stakes game of cat and mouse, but when the mission gets personal, Cross is pushed to the edge of his moral and psychological limits in this taut and exciting action thriller. Ed Burns who plays Cross’ partner, Tommy Kane in the film, told me at the press day for Man On A Ledge that the audience and fans of the book will be surprised by Perry’s performance.. Eli Roth Is In The Green Inferno

Emerging as a major player on the Croisette this year, Worldview Entertainment is teaming with Eli Roth to produce and finance the filmmaker's The Green Inferno . Inferno marks the first feature Roth will direct since Hostel: Part II in 2007. Roth wrote the script with Guillermo Amoedo based on Roth's original story, but the logline is being kept under tight wraps. Roth is set to begin shooting in the fall in Peru and Chili, where he recently starred in and produced the earthquake thriller Aftershock, which is currently in post production. He and Amoedo also wrote the script for that film. "I've had an amazing few years producing, writing and acting, and am very excited to get back in the director's chair. I've been working on this idea for several years, and was inspired by filming in Chili and cannot wait to get back," Roth said. "Worldview backs my vision and believe in me, and is giving me the support I need and the freedom to take risks

Liam Neeson To Star In A Walk Among The Tombstones

Liam Neeson seems dedicated to dominating the news feeds today, between new Taken 2 pics and now word that he’ll star in Scott Frank’s adaptation of Lawrence Block’s A Walk Among The Tombstones . We wouldn’t be surprised if he was lurking in the background of the Skyfall poster, punching a wolf or something. The film, which Frank has written and will direct, sees Neeson as Matt Scudder, in a time when he’s a former NYPD officer finding work as an unlicensed private eye. And because they all seem to have to have this trait, he's at constant war with the demon drink. Hired to find the kidnapped wife of a drug dealer, he digs into the case and discovers that the people behind it are not new to this sort of thing, and that it doesn’t usually end well for the victim. Tombstones has been wandering around the development weeds for a while now, with Frank having penned the script around 14 years ago for Danny DeVito’s Jersey Films. Universal set the thing up with Harrison Ford sni

Taken 2 Images. Bryan Mills Ain't No Joke

Oh Snap! EW got the first images from Taken 2 . Liam Neeson returns as Bryan Mills , the retired CIA agent with a particular set of skills who stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim from Albanian kidnappers. When the father of one of the kidnappers swears revenge, and takes Bryan and his wife hostage during their family vacation in Istanbul, Bryan enlists Kim to help them escape, and uses the same advanced level of special forces tactics to get his family to safety and systematically take out the kidnappers one by one. I got a chance to sit down and take to Liam Nesson and Maggie Grace as they talk alittle about the film. TAKEN 2 opens October 5th, 2012 See all the images after the Jump... Please Leave A Comment-

MAGIC MIKE Takes It All Off In This International Trailer

Alright ladies we have the international trailer for MAGIC MIKE . I have a feeling that this movie is going to be HUGE. A movie for the ladies that will rival The Avengers? he film stars stars Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Joe Manganiello and Matthew McConaughey . Magic Mike is inspired by Tatum's experiences working as a stripper before his acting career took off. But instead of the lead, Tatum plays the mentor to Pettyfer's character, a performer in the troupe. McConaughey plays Dallas, a former stripper who owns the club where the two perform -- though from the looks of the photo, he doesn't take his retirement very seriously. Magic Mike arrives in U.S. theaters on June 29, 2012. It also stars Matt Bomer, Olivia Munn, Riley Keough and Cody Horn. Please Leave A Comment-

BATTLESHIP Review By:RAMA

BATTLESHIP Review By:RAMA So what did RAMA think of BATTLESHIP? Matt's review to come soon. Congratulations, director Peter Berg , you are now the new Michael Bay, and that’s not a compliment. Just as I suspected.. the experience is like watching Battle: Los Angeles meets Transformers meets full blown advertisement for the U.S. Navy. In the words of that weatherman from the comedy Anchorman.. “Loud Noises!”.. Peter Berg (Hancock) produces and directs Battleship, an epic-scaled action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force. Inspired by Hasbro’s classic naval combat game, Battleship stars Taylor Kitsch as Lt. Alex Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Sam Shane, a physical therapist and Hopper’s fiancée; Alexander Skarsgård as Hopper’s older brother, Stone, Commanding Officer of the USS Sampson; Rihanna as Petty Officer Raikes, Hopper’s crewmate

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU'RE EXPECTING Movie Review By: Matt C

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU'RE EXPECTING Movie Review By: Matt C Ensemble pieces, whether they be comedy or drama, are tricky things: too many characters usually get introduced, forcing audiences to pick and choose who they will follow. The best of these (like The Usual Suspects) never forces the audience to make that choice, instead weaving the characters throughout the story to create an enjoyable, albeit curvy, experience. What to Expect When You're Expecting tries very hard to achieve that, but never gets it quite right. Funny at times but unnecessarily poignant and dull at others, it's a date night film that might give guys the heebie-jeebies on the way home, as talk will inevitably turn to having children. At its core however is a tale with too many characters, whom you instantly forget when the lights kick on during the credits. What to Expect tries to be a laugh-out-loud fest, touching ensemble drama, tear-jerker, and a couple of other genres thrown in for good m
