Catherine Zeta-Jones has been set to star in Side Effects , the thriller that Steven Soderbergh will direct. She joins Blake Lively, Jude Law and Channing Tatum, who are also negotiating. The Scott Z. Burns scripted film is being financed by Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures, with production to start in April in New York on a thriller that has a budget in the $30 million range. Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing with Greg Jacobs and Burns. Open Road recently signed on to distribute in the U.S. The film is a potboiler in the Jagged Edge-Basic Instinct mold, and Zeta-Jones will play Dr. Erica Siebert. Lively plays a troubled and depressed woman who is taking serious amounts of prescription drugs, which leads her into a relationship with another doctor (Law). Her intake is ostensibly designed to help her deal with the anxiety surrounding the pending release of her husband (Tatum) from prison. Burns wrote it several years ago and set it up at Miramax under the title The Side Effects

Hot on the heels of news about Paul Feig directing Goldie Hawn in T he Viagra Diaries comes word that Ben Stiller has jumped aboard to star, direct, executive produce and run the electrical department* for All Talk . Novelist Jonathan Safran Foer cooked up the concept and has written the script for the pilot, which will follow the daily dramas of a Jewish family in Washington, DC. Helmer James Wan and New Line have selected Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson to star in horror pic " The Conjuring ." The two thesps are in final negotiations to star and Wan is on board to direct. Chad and Carey Hayes sold the original pitch. The project is inspired by the true-life story of the Perron family, who claimed they "lived among the dead" in the 1970s as spirits both friendly and sinister inhabited their Rhode Island farmhouse. Wilson's casting marks a reteaming with Wan, who directed him in the low-budget horror thriller " Insidious ," which also revolved a family living in a haunted house. Wilson was most recently seen in Paramount's "Young Adult." Farmiga is also no stranger to the horror genre, having starred in the Warner Bros. pic " Orphan ." Seriously because UNDERWORLD AWAKENING is just straight up action and 3D and VFX, no more no less and I must admit, some of the sequences especially the part of Selene vs. one gigantic lycan, is mildly exciting, much thanks to the 3D, and of course if you’ve come to watch hottie Kate Beckinsale in tight pleather again, you won’t get disappointed, but other than that, this mother protecting daughter story hiding in some kind of ‘new war’ dilemma is a pointless fourth installment.. When human forces discover the existence of the Vampire and Lycan clans, a war to eradicate both species commences. The vampire warrioress Selene leads the battle against humankind. By now, nobody could put on skin tights sexier than Beckinsale , UNDERWORLD AWAKENING takes advantage of and practically exploits her body curves,
