In a recent interview , Warner Bros.' reigning Batman, Christian Bale , confirmed that Christopher Nolan's upcoming The Dark Knight Rises will be his final turn in the superhero's cape. "I wrapped a few days ago so that will be the last time I'm taking that cowl off," Bale said in an interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer . "I believe the whole production wrapped yesterday, so it's all done. Everything's finished. It's me and Chris - that will be the end of that Batman era." The movie will follow a Prisoner of War who is still battling with hatred for his Japanese captors and his wife who helps him overcome his torture. The story is based on the memoirs of Scotsman Eric Lomax. During World War II, Eric - a second lieutenant in the Royal Corp of Signals - was captured by Japanese forces in Singapore and sent to a camp in Kanchanaburi, Thailand. There, he joined tens of thousands of other PoWs working on the Burma-Siam death railway and the bridge over the River Kwai. Colin will play Eric in later life as he still struggles with the horrors that were inflicted upon him in the Far East. British actor Ben Whishaw has been cast as Q in the new Bond film Skyfall, his agent has confirmed. The role of 007's gadget designer was played by Desmond Llewelyn in From Russia With Love and most recently by John Cleese , opposite Pierce Brosnan, in 2002's Die Another Day. The Smashing Pumpkins frontman has joined with two wrestling promoter brothers to debut the first show of Resistance Pro , an indie wrestling company, on Friday at a downtown Chicago dance club.
