Fireflies in the Garden is set in the present day, and revolves around three generations of a family, with flash-backs to their growing up. Ben Ripley, who most recently penned Source Code , has been signed to a development deal with Sony to write a contemporary reimagining of Flatliners , the 1990 Joel Schumacher drama about medical students who dabble too far into near-death experiments that starred then-emerging actors like Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts and William Baldwin, as well as Kevin Bacon . Maybe Sony thinks a redo can launch a few more young careers in the same manner? Laurence Mark is set to produce, likely with Further Films, for Columbia Pictures. David Blackman is overseeing for Laurence Mark Prods. Ripley penned the April release Source Code for Summit Entertainment; the film was a surprise hit and has made $123.3 million worldwide to date. To mark the 30th anniversary of “ Raiders of the Lost Ark ,” a touring exhibition is spotlighting famous props from the Indiana Jones films and putting them side-by-side with real archaeological artifacts. The exhibition, called “ Indiana Jones and the Adventure of Archaeology ,” features the Ark of the Covenant from “Raiders” and the Holy Grail from “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade,” as well as objects from ancient Peru, Egypt and Iraq, all on display in a museum space inspired by Hangar 51 and ancient temples. Lucasfilm teamed with National Geographic and Montreal’s X3 Productions to produce and curate the exhibit, which started its six-year international tour at the Montreal Science Centre and will head overseas next month. No dates have been scheduled in the U.S. as yet, but Hero Complex readers can get a glimpse of some of the objects in the gallery above (be sure to turn the CAPTIONS ON). Looks like Jennifer Garner ’s loss is Olivia Wilde ’s gain, as the Cowboys & Aliens actress is replacing the Arthur co-star in the cast of indie comedy drama Better Living Through Chemistry . Garner’s got a good excuse, though: she’s just announced that she’s pregnant with her third child, which will put a bump in her schedule. Now Wilde will feature as the trophy wife who lures a weak-willed, small-town chemist (her Cowboys & Aliens co-star Sam Rockwell ) from his loveless marriage with nights of passion and the pleasures of prescription drugs. But things go haywire when they start planning to kill Wilde’s husband. It's official! Fox announced Thursday that Breaking In will be getting 13 episode second season, set to premiere in 2012. And now, the crew of Breaking In is about to pull off the best heist ever: coming back from cancellation. Christian Slater comedy caper will be getting a 13-episode order for this season. That's right, Breaking In might possibly beat the evil cancellation demons for a second time... Back in the spring, Fox announced that it wouldn't be renewing the half-hour comedy which stars Slater, along with Bret Harrison, Michael Rosenbaum and new House gal Odette Annable . But a sliver of hope was given to fans when Fox decided to keep the casts' options in case they decided to give the show another chance. And now it seems that chance is here, because negations are reportedly currently underway to bring Breaking In back to the Fox schedule. Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, co-creators of Disney Channel’s flagship animated series Phineas and Ferb , have signed separate exclusive, multi-year, multimillion-dollar deals with Disney Television Animation. Under the pacts, the two will continue on the Emmy-winning series they created and executive produce for another season. Also as part of the deals, Povenmire and Marsh are now officially attached to the Phineas and Ferb feature being developed at Disney. The two are already working on the script. Additionally, the deals include a new pilot, likely a Phineas and Ferb spinoff, and other future development for Povenmire and Marsh, who also have a piece of the franchise’s merchandising profits.
