CW's superhero success is springing another baby. Story by Matt Cummings It's safe to say that CW's lineup (albeit small) of superhero television shows has been nothing short of an unqualified success. Arrow continues to deliver week after week, while The Flash has exploded in popularity, with quality bad guys, several as-yet-to-be-resolved story arcs, and excellent casting. Stephen Amell and Grant Gustin (Arrow and Flash, respectively) have even teamed up on each other's shows, which garnered some of CW's biggest ratings to date. Well, the network's number of superhero shows on is about to get bigger. Deadline is reporting that we'll soon see a show featuring casts from both shows in the first stand-alone team-up. The names: ATOM and F.I.R.E.S.T.O.R.M. Arrow Producers Reveal The Latest Super Hero Costume Story by David Clark Former Superman Returns Brandon Routh is currently playing the role of Ray Palmer/ATOM on the CW show Arrow , a brainy scientist/corporate-type named for his superpower providing suit called an Advanced Technology Operating Mechanism - A.T.O.M. Truth be told, the Atom character has gone through multiple variations in the DC Comics universe. The original Atom was an awkward college student turned physicist with limited superpowers at best. Another version of the Atom appeared in the Suicide Squad comics as a minor character. The CW has selected a version of the character known as the Silver Age Atom. In the original lore, Ray Palmer became Atom when he discovered the fragments of a white dwarf star. He utilized those materials to fashion a technology which allowed the shrinking of his own body down to the subatomic level. Over time the character became less dependent upon technology and

Melissa Benoist  is a guest-shot veteran of shows such as Homeland and The Good Wife and appeared in a chunk of musical high school show Glee. She’s currently on cinema screens as Nicole, the young woman that Miles Teller’s Andrew Nieman falls for in Whiplash .   Comic-book heroes – particularly from the DC universe – have rarely been more successful on TV. Word arrived in October that US network CBS (the home of the CSI franchise and other crime procedurals) was looking to get in on the action by commissioning Supergirl . We now know that Melissa Benoist will be playing Kara Zor-El in the show. The plot will follow Kal-El’s cousin, who escaped Krypton as he did and ended up on Earth. Initially unwilling to acknowledge her powers, she starts to come into her own in her mid-twenties and accept her heroic destiny. A Prison Break reunion is coming to TV — on The Flash, that is. Dominic Purcell has boarded The CW comic-book drama as a DC Comics villain, reuniting with his Prison Break co-star Wentworth Miller in the 10th episode. This marks the first time Purcell and Miller , who played brothers Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield, will have appeared together since Prison Break ended in 2009. Purcell will play Mick Rory , a pyromaniac who finds an outlet for his obsession with fire when he teams up with Leonard Snart/Captain Cold ( Miller ) and becomes the villain known as Heatwave . Miller was cast in The Flash back in July and makes his debut in episode four. Purcell's character will also be heard from in that same episode. In DC Comics lore, Heatwave is a member of the Rogues, led by Captain Cold. Heatwave has been featured in animated form on shows such as Justice League Unlimited and Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Onetime Tomorrow person Robbie Amell has quickly teleported himself into a hot new role — on The CW’s freshman superhero series The Flash . TVLine has learned that the actor (and real-life cousin of Arrow star Stephen Amell ) has been cast in the recurring role of Ronnie Raymond, the fiance of S.T.A.R. Labs scientist Caitlin Snow (played by Danielle Panabaker ). Oh, and Ronnie is also one-half of the DC Comics character Firestorm – creating a tremendous bit of irony, considering Caitlin’s own (possible) destiny. In his Flash incarnation, S.T.A.R. TV Recap: Arrow "Birds Of Prey" By: Sue Officer Lance prepares for a raid on Frank Bertinelli. Canary and Arrow watch over the police, mindful that Slade could strike at anytime. When the firefight get heavy, Arrow and Canary step in to offer their assistance.
