BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Chris Pine in Talks to Join DCCU

Learn what role he is slated to play. Story by Matt Cummings It's pretty clear that Actor Chris Pine makes everything he's in that much better. He's been a great Captain Kirk in the Star Trek reboots, a very good Jack Ryan in the recent Shadow Recruit , and even made Horrible Bosses 2 a livable experience. So it was bound to happen that the star would join either the Marvel Cinematic Universe or the DC one; the question was which one would be smart enough to get him. It now looks like we know what universe he will join and what role he might play. According to Variety , Pine is in negotiations to play a major role in Warner Bros.' Wonder Woman, that being none other than Colonel Steve Trevor. In the comics, Trevor is the human liaison and love interest to Wonder Woman who crashes his WWII plane on Paradise Island, the isolated home of the Amazons. He was rescued by Diana and brought back to America, where the two worked for the US government. In the

Joker May Be In Batman v. Superman and Batman May Be In Suicide Squad

DC might be cross-pollinating their characters. By Brandon Wolfe Latino Review has posted a couple of juicy rumors concerning the burgeoning DC Cinematic Universe. We received our first look the other day at the new Insane Clown Posse Prince of Crime incarnation of the Joker as he will appear in David Ayer's Suicide Squad , which had been expected to be the character’s debut film. Now, it’s rumored, we might meet the character a bit sooner, in Batman v. Superman . Rumblings have it that Jared Leto is filming a secret flashback sequence for next March’s superhero mash-up where we will see a depiction of the Joker torturing and killing Jason Todd’s Robin, as occurred in the 1988 comic “A Death in the Family.” Latino Review also reports that Todd’s Robin costume will be displayed in a glass casket in Wayne Manor during the film, and will possibly act as the trigger for the flashback. On top of that, the website also claims to have been told that Bruce Wayne/Batman will

Here's What Jared Leto's Joker Will Look Like

"Do you want to know how I got these tats?" By Brandon Wolfe In celebration of the character’s 75th anniversary, Suicide Squad director David Ayer has tweeted a photo of the Joker as he will be portrayed by Jared Leto . The photo, presenting a tatted-up version of the Clown Prince of Crime, registers something of a shock, as it indicates an extreme reinterpretation of the iconic character, something DC has seemed bent on doing to many of its iconic characters in its bid to craft a cinematic universe of its own. It’s worth mentioning that when images first popped up online of Heath Ledger’s Joker from The Dark Knight , they too seemed to suggest an initially troubling major overhaul of the character’s appearance, with the long, greasy hair and mutilated smile. But Leto’s Joker, with his Juggalo visage, has especially struck many as a needless, tone-deaf modernization of something that didn’t need to be updated, and yet more evidence that Warner Bros' decision t

The story tells of imprisoned villains recruited by a government agency to perform covert operations. Details for Common’s role have not been revealed. Warners had no comment on the deal. The movie is in production in Toronto. Common is currently on screen with Warners’ Liam Ne

First Look: The A.T.O.M.

Arrow Producers Reveal The Latest Super Hero Costume Story by David Clark Former Superman Returns Brandon Routh is currently playing the role of Ray Palmer/ATOM on the CW show Arrow , a brainy scientist/corporate-type named for his superpower providing suit called an Advanced Technology Operating Mechanism - A.T.O.M. Truth be told, the Atom character has gone through multiple variations in the DC Comics universe. The original Atom was an awkward college student turned physicist with limited superpowers at best. Another version of the Atom appeared in the Suicide Squad comics as a minor character. The CW has selected a version of the character known as the Silver Age Atom. In the original lore, Ray Palmer became Atom when he discovered the fragments of a white dwarf star. He utilized those materials to fashion a technology which allowed the shrinking of his own body down to the subatomic level. Over time the character became less dependent upon technology and

Tom Hardy Is Out Of Suicide Squad. Could Jake Gyllenhaal Replace Him?

Looks like Tom Hardy is out and the studio has made overtures to Jake Gyllenhaal to replace Hardy but it's unclear if the "Nightcrawler" actor will be able to take on the movie. Tom Hardy has dropped out of Suicide Squad , Warner Bros.’ all-star comic book movie being directed by David Ayer. Not losing a beat, the studio has made overtures to Jake Gyllenhaal, who has generated heat for his performance in Nightcrawler, to replace Hardy Gyllenhaal , who worked with Ayer on the acclaimed police thriller End of Watch , is currently on Broadway for his play Constellations. Based on DC Entertainment’s villains-forced-to-be-heroes characters, the cast boasts a nefarious lineup that includes Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Jared Leto , along with Jai Courtney and Cara Delevingne . Hardy was to have played Rick Flagg , the leader of the group that consists of Batman villains Deadshot (Smith), Joker (Leto) and Harley Quinn (Robbie), plus Boomerang (Courtney) and Enc

Also cast in the movie based on the DC Entertainment villains-forced-to-be-heroes are Jai Courtney and Cara Delevingne . Much of the castings have been previously reported but the studio also confirmed which characters the actors will play. Smith will play Deadshot , best known as a Batman villain, while Hardy the group’s leader, Rick Flagg . Leto will take on the Joker while Robbie will play Harley Quinn , his on-and-off girlfriend. Courtney will be Boomerang while Delevingne , the model-turned-actress who is also in Warners' Pan tentpole, will play Enchantress , a sorceress. Jai Courtney In Talks To Join Suicide Squad?

“ Terminator: Genesys ” star Jai Courtney is in talks for a major role in Warner Bros.’ “ Suicide Squad ” that could prove to be Batman villain Deadshot , sources tell Variety . Tom Hardy, Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Jared Leto are also in various stages of discussions to join the super-villainous movie, which is being written and directed by “Fury” filmmaker David Ayer. “Suicide Squad,” produced by Charles Roven, will be released in summer 2016. Warner Bros. had no comment on this story. Based on the DC comic book, the story centers on the team of super villains who are given a chance at redemption by the government. The catch: Their mission will probably kill them all. Warner Bros. is courting Leto to play the Joker in the film, Robbie for Harley Quinn and Hardy for Rick Flag, a founding member of the Suicide Squad. As for Smith, it’s uncertain which character he will play, but sources say it’s likely the Flash nemesis Digger Harkness a.k.a. Captain Boomerang. Jesse E

Could Jared Leto Play The Joker In “Suicide Squad”

The Oscar winner hasn't settled on his follow-up to “ Dallas Buyers Club ” so he's still available Oscar winner Jared Leto is circling a key role in David Ayer ‘s “ Suicide Squad ” that could prove to be The Joker , an individual familiar with the Warner Bros. project has told TheWrap . Warner Bros. had no comment, while a representative for Leto did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Tom Hardy, Will Smith and Margot Robbie are in various stages of discussions to star in “Suicide Squad,” which David Ayer is directing and Charles Roven is producing. Jesse Eisenberg is also expected to reprise his role as Superman's mortal foe Lex Luthor, though no casting is confirmed at this time. Ryan Gosling was initially sought to play The Joker but he was unwilling to sign a deal with options for multiple movies, according to one insider. Based on the DC Comic, “Suicide Squad” finds the government granting a group of supervillains a shot at redemption by s

Gosling, Hardy, Smith & Robbie Could Join The Suicide Squad

Included as part of Warner Bros.’ big release date announcement for its DC Comics titles , the adaptation of Suicide Squad is already gathering steam, which is handy since it’s currently set as the first film to launch after 2016’s Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice . And apparently the studio is pursuing Ryan Gosling, Tom Hardy, Will Smith and Margot Robbie to star. It is fairly early days for any discussions, though Deadline goes on to mention that they’re all fairly well disposed to signing on, which might seem surprising, but Smith is no stranger to big action fare and Hardy will do blockbuster work if he’s interested in a part. As for Robbie , she’s clearly a Warners favourite after The Wolf Of Wall Street and Focus , in which she appears with Smith. Gosling , meanwhile, is said to be taking meetings on Houdini and Doctor Strange as well as Suicide Squad according to The Hollywood Reporter , so might finally find himself in the blockbuster business. David Ayer is dir

Warner Bros. & DC Announce Film Line Up Until 2020

Not to be overshadowed by Marvel’s big Captain America 3 / Iron Man / Civil War rumor action earlier this week, Warner Bros. and DC have gone ahead and slapped a big, fat slab of news down on the table with a release date binge for films including Wonder Woman and Suicide Squad . They have also finally given confirmation that Jason Momoa has been cast as Aquaman and revealed that The Perks Of Being A Wallflower ’s Ezra Miller will be The Flash . Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes took the opportunity to liven up an otherwise staid shareholder earnings meeting to drop word about Miller’s casting along with the other details. The Flash – which will not be related to the just-launched US TV drama, where Grant Gustin plays the speedy character – will find Miller as Barry Allen, who awakens from a coma to discover that he now has super-speed. He pledges to use his powers for good and ends up part of the Justice League, which means he’ll be running circles around Batman, Superman and the
