BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

#StarWarsSmugglersBounty Review: July 2016

July's usually-reliable Star Wars/Funko Smuggler's Bounty sub box is a JABBA'S PALACE-sized disappointment. Review by Matt Cummings With our cancellation of Geek Fuel and Loot Crate, we're now committed to the every-other-month sub box model. For the most part, we've felt like we made a good decision, with boxes from Marvel Collector Corps and DC Legion kicking large amount of superhero ass. Unfortunately, the July submission for Smuggler's Bounty (JABBA's PALACE) provides the first disappointment in the oft-month model, and cements growing evidence of malaise and even outright cheapness with this particular line. Before diving in, let's review the details: The cost for a Month to Month is $25 (plus S/H), or $150 (plus S/H) for a one-year subscription. You get one box every other month, with SB promising $50 in value and no fluff. If you choose the Smuggler membership (yearly), you are promised an additional gift on your anniversary.

#StarWarsSmugglersBounty Review: May 2016

May's reliable Star Wars/Funko Smuggler's Bounty sub box is also a BOUNTY HUNTER'S dream. Review by Matt Cummings For a series that's delivered so consistently as Funko's Star Wars, there's also a feeling that things might be getting a little stale. Believe me, it's better than the whipsaw efforts by Geek Fuel (thinking about cancelling) and Loot Crate (cancelled), but May's BOUNTY HUNTERS box provides growing evidence that, while still very reliable, the monthly sub box might need to shake things up a bit going forward. Guess which one we chose. Again, this month's theme is BOUNTY HUNTERS, highlighting th

#StarWarsSmugglersBounty Review: March 2016

Even in an off month, The Star Wars/Funko Smuggler's Bounty sub box is never dull. Review by Matt Cummings As the nature of geek boxes continues to pan out as we expected - with whipsaw efforts from now-lesser boxes - Star Wars and Marvel Collector Corps continue their unequalled dominance. This is more true when you look at March's Star Wars box. Although there's no new movie out - and none planned until December's Rogue One - the box is far superior to those by Geek Fuel and Loot Crate (which we've now cancelled). With this month's theme as CANTINA, we see SB giving us a nice collection of items with only one item failing to connect.
