Captain America: The First Avenger May Surprise People

“ Captain America: The First Avenger ” director Joe Johnston is not one of Hollywood’s shiny, happy people — the 60-year-old Texas native is known for blunt candor and a withering glare. That’s why I was bit taken aback the other day when I called his cellphone and heard a voice on the other end that actually sounded something close to giddy. surprise “I watched the movie for the first time a few days ago and I just looked at the first cut and there is so much entertainment value — it’s just flat-out fun to watch,” Johnston said of his Marvel Studios film, which hits theaters July 22. “Maybe I’m somewhat biased — I was there [when we made it] — but, seriously, it’s funny, it’s exciting and there’s great visual effects. The movie is going to be something more than people are expecting. This movie is going to surprise some people. It is the origin story of Captain America but it is also something rare — it’s a period superhero film but there’s great action in it. You don’t normally

Chris Evans Talks Captain America Script

Chris Evans Talks Captain America Script When it comes to " Captain America ," it's not exactly the easiest sell — after all, it's not every day that one sees a superhero running on the battlefield of World War II in a star-spangled suit. But for Chris Evans — the actor portraying Steve Rogers in the Marvel Studios film — shying away from a comic book film's more fantastical moments is not just a difficult task, but a potentially unnecessary one. "The nature of comic book movies in general — I mean, with Wolverine, you've got swords coming out of a guy's knuckles — it's all a bit fantastical," Evans told MTV News when asked about the tone of "Captain America" and comic book movies in general. "It's about finding a good script, a good director and finding a way to ground it in reality," he added. "Even if it is a bit dream-like, as long as you stay consistent, if you can get the audience to commit in the begin

Chris Evans Talks Captain America

Chris Evans Talks Captain America We've all seen the concept art of Chris Evans as Captain America and today we have some news about the costume and shield from the horses mouth. It’s an amazing costume. Given the fact that his costume is red, white and blue, and it’s tight, and it could be kind of flash and over the top – and given the fact that the movie takes place in the ‘40s and ‘50s – they’ve done a really good job of making it look really cool. There will be two Captain America outfits, one will be a show costume and the other is a battle ready costume. I think everyone that’s going to see it is going to say, 'Okay, well done. Well done. I think they got the costume right. The casting they completely ruined, but the costume they nailed! [In the Fantastic Four  suit] …you could move around quite well. This is a little more cumbersome. It doesn’t exactly breathe the way the Fantastic Four costume breathed, but it’s the way it should be. Any type of World War II

Captain America's Costume Details

Captain America's Costume Details Captain America's iconic costume has been spotted in the wild, and it has been messed with. The guys over at JoBlo has had a look at the suit Chris Evans will be wearing in the upcoming film Captain America: The First Avenger , and though he can't share any images from the costume tests, he does reveal some rather surprising changes from what you might be familiar with. Cap's famous temple wings? Gone ! Those trademark wings that have come to represent Captain America as much as his shield? Looks like we won't be seeing them. In fact, Cap's hood is gone , too. Replacing it is an Army helmet that comes over Cap's eyes to give him a traditional superhero "domino mask" look, with a black strap that wraps over his ears and under his chin. He's got an old-school utility belt Cap's belt will be doing more than just holding up his pants—we'll be seeing a Batman-style utility belt, with brown po

Tommy Lee Jones Cast In Captain America

Tommy Lee Jones Cast In Captain America Last month is was rumored that Tommy Lee Jones was up for a role in Marvel's Captain America: The First Avenger. This rumor has been confirmed to be true by actress Hayley Atwell who plays Steve Rodger's love interest Peggy Carter. Watch her let the cat out of the Bag at the 2:20 mark. It still isn't confirmed what role Jones will play in the Joe Johnston directed film, but we can speculate that he will take on the role of General Chester Phillips , the military officer who chose Steve Rogers for the super soldier program and who helped in his training soon after he took the serum. Here is a full rundown of the character according to the comic books. General Phillips hand picked 4-F army reject Steve Rogers to become a part of the 1940 Operation Reborn experiment. In particular, he admired Rogers patriotic spirit. Later, Phillips was a part of picking Rogers as the eventual Super-Soldier Captain America. Phillips also oversaw

Howard Stark To Appear In Captain America

Howard Stark To Appear In Captain America It would make sense to have Howard Stark may an appearance in the upcoming Captain America film. In Iron Man 2, Howard Stark is played by John Slattery, who appears in a video reel flashback scene and plays an important part in unraveling a key plot mystery. How big Stark's part in Captain America will be is unknown at this time. Jon Favreau let the world know on MTV that Tony's father would be in the upcoming film. Asked about Stark senior's possible appearance in Cap.. "Yeah, because he was around then. ['Captain America'] is World War II. It wouldn't be that same actor, probably, because he would be much younger.[Howard Stark] was starting out during that time, and [he] was involved with the war effort, much like Howard Hughes," Please Leave A Comment- Source- CBM

The First Avenger: Captain America To Leave The Door Open For Winter Soldier?

The First Avenger: Captain America To Leave The Door Open For Winter Soldier? I am not a familiar with this story and what has been happening the last few years with comic books. But I will break down what I know and maybe we all can learn something new. This may contain spoilers to the upcoming The First Avenger: Captain America film and sequels so you have been Warned, if they go in this direction. Sources inside the The First Avenger: Captain America production are now telling me that the Captain America movie continuity is being developed to leave the door open for the Winter Soldier to appear, should there be a sequel. Bucky will be seemingly killed when Cap is frozen in ice, as he was in the original post-WWII Captain America stories, but he'll take on some serious injuries along the way, allowing him to show up again in the future with a cyborg arm. Previous thinking at Marvel Studios had Bucky surviving the war and meeting Cap in the modern day as an old man, whic
