Lily Collins In Talks To Star In Pride Prejudice & Zombies

Just like its main antagonists, “ Pride Prejudice and Zombies ” is a film that refuses to die, and looks like it may have risen again from the dead. Burr Steers is on board to direct with Lily Collins in negotiations to star in the adaptation of S eth Grahame Smith’ s mash-up of the literary classic. The book follows the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England who are faced with a new challenge — an army of undead zombies. Collins would play the Elizabeth Bennet character. Darko Entertainment and Panorama Media are producing with Panorama funding. Natalie Portman and Annette Savitch of Handsomecharlie films, Sean McKittrick of Darko Entertainment and Allison Shearmur of Allison Shearmur Productions are producing. The project has been in development for some time, with David O. Russell eyed to direct, Portman starring and Lionsgate distributing. But the script took too long to develop the proper tone, leading to Russell and P

Natalie Portman Considers Code Name Sasha

So what isn’t Natalie Portman being courted for these days? There are several roles on offer to the “Black Swan” actress, include “Code Name Sasha,” which is being described as a female “Training Day” meets “La Femme Nikita" and "Last Witness," among others. " Code Name Sasha " revolves around a single mother who has been engaged in criminal activity since she was a teenager. She is given a chance to get out when the FBI asks her to go under cover to bring down the world’s largest gun-running organization. Alexandra Milchan is producing for Paramount. At Fox, Portman is also being eyed for the film “Last Witness” for producers Davis Entertainment. She would play a psychologist working with the sole survivor of a bombing in a café in Boston who is suffering from amnesia. Portman is also being courted for the Jackie Kennedy drama “Jackie” at Fox Searchlight, some media outlets have reported. A representative for the actress said that Portman has yet to

Channing Tatum Confirms Jupiter Ascending

Though they make a point of trying to keep as much about their films as quiet as humanly possible, news has slowly been leaking out about the Wachowski siblings’ new sci-fi project Jupiter Ascending . First there was talk of Natalie Portman considering a role, then word that Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis were in talks. Now, via Tatum himself, comes confirmation that he’s locked in. Talking with MTV, Tatum admitted that he was indeed part of the movie. And he even talked a little bit about what we can expect: "It's going to be a crazy action movie from the directors of The Matrix . They're going to reinvent the wheel as far as action goes, all over again." So what is it really all about? Well, Vulture tapped a source that seemed to offer some details, though naturally all of this is still unconfirmed and if it’s true, could end up being more information than you require, so look away now if you’re trying to stay away from any possible details. According to the

Natalie Portman To Star In Jane Got A Gun

If you had asked us what Lynne Ramsay might pick as a possible follow up to We Need To Talk About Kevin , a Western would not have been high on the list. But it’s true – the director is aboard Jane Got A Gun , which now boasts Natalie Portman as star and producer. While the movie is still swirling away in development, the combination of Brian Duffield’s Black List script, Ramsay and Portman is proving a potent pheromone, attracting studios and distributors. Jane focuses on a woman whose outlaw husband is betrayed and nearly shot to death by his own gang. When the double-crossing posse heads to the couple’s farm to finish the job, the wife takes matters into her own hands, while also reaching out to a former lover for some gun-slinging assistance. Ramsay also has an untitled sci-fi project based on Moby Dick bubbling on her creative stove, but with Portman involved and all the interest in Jane, you’ve got to figure it has a shot at getting made first, assuming the schedules wor

Is Natalie Portman Heading To Jupiter?

A year ago, Natalie Portman was the hottest actress around. The “ Black Swan ” star was sweeping awards and earning the sine qua non of actor heat, the "Saturday Night Live" parody. She even survived an ill-timed dorky laugh. But Portman didn’t get to indulge in the main perk that comes from winning an Oscar — booking a big, prestigious movie. Portman was five months pregnant when she accepted the golden statuette last February, and pretty much stopped working afterward so she and costar/choreographer Benjamin Millipied could have their son, Aleph, who was born in June. She hasn’t worked since. (Portman could be seen in several movies last spring — “Your Highness” and “Thor” — but she shot those before her pregnancy.) Could Portman soon be coming out of her baby-induced hiatus? According to a person briefed on the project who was not authorized to talk about it publicly, the actress has been courted by Lana and Andy Wachowski to star in “ Jupiter Ascending ,” the science-

Game Of Thrones Alan Taylor To Direct Thor 2

The search for a Thor 2 director to replace Patty Jenkins has ended. Sources confirm to The Hollywood Reporter that Alan Taylor , best known for directing episodes of HBO's fantasy series Game Of Thrones , has nabbed the job. Jenkins (Monster) made headlines in early December when she departed the high-profile sequel to May's Thor. Both she and Marvel cited "creative differences" but THR's Kim Masters later revealed that Marvel abruptly dismissed Jenkins when the studio felt she was showing “a lack of overall clarity in her choices,” according to one source. Marvel was concerned that the filmmaking process would be “difficult” and that the planned release date might be hard to hit. The move to jettison Jenkins infuriated star Natalie Portman, who had been excited about Jenkins becoming the first woman to direct a major superhero tentpole film. A source speculated that Marvel executives might have been won over initially by Portman’s enthusiasm for Jenkins b

The Phantom Menace 3D Poster. Someone Important Is Missing From It

They've been rolling closer for some time now, but here's real proof that the Star Wars 3D reissues are really, actually, honestly happening, with a poster for The Phantom Menace . It's back, and this time it's stereoscopic. You'll note that the poster designers have emphasised the more popular elements of the film here: Darth Maul is front and centre, Ewan McGregor and Yoda get a look in, but Jake Lloyd and Jar Jar are nowhere to be seen. Contrast this with the original poster back in 1999 below, where both got a shot. We're not quite sure why the still-popular Liam Neeson and Natalie Portman have lost their spot, however; presumably it's simply to make this one look different to 1999's, or perhaps it's more important to remind us that there will be pod-racing and space battles in 3D. The teaser's still the best of the lot though. Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace is out in 3D on February 10, 2012. Please Leave A Comment

Will Patty Jenkins Direct Thor 2?

Patty Jenkins is the choice to direct Thor 2 for Marvel Studios. No negotiations have begun but Jenkins, who directed the 2003 Charlize Theron movie Monster and recently the pilot for AMC's acclaimed crime show The Killing , vied with several other directors for the gig, and now will become the first woman director in Marvel Studios' stable of helmers. Some outlets reported in early August that Brian Kirk, a director behind many Game of Thrones episodes, was in early negotiations to direct but those reports were wrong as Kirk never got past the meeting stage. Kenneth Branagh directed the first Thor movie, which has grossed $448.5 millions worldwide. Creative differences, especially a difficult post-production process, weighed in Branagh’s decision not to return to the director’s chair. Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins are expected to return to their respective roles. Jenkins represents another against-the-grain choice for Marvel, who has show

Rumor:Thor 2 Villains Maybe Revealed

With THOR ruleing the box office the past two weeks it was only a matter of time before we heard news of a sqeal to the film. Cinemablend  has reported that their source said that they’ve already begun kicking around story ideas for the sequel with the hope that they’ll have it ready and in theaters in the same year as Iron Man 3, in 2013. That fits the pattern we’re seeing this summer, with both Thor and Captain America hitting theaters in the same year. Thor 2 project is still in very early stages and they don’t expect to start actually writing the script until the end of the year, internally producers are kicking around possible villains. In contention to face off against Thor are two characters named The Enchantres s and The Executioner . In Marvel Comics lore The Enchantress is a powerful Asgard sorceress named Amora. In the comics her first appearance involved an attempt to take out Thor’s love interest in order to have him all to herself. That notion seems to fit pretty

THOR Movie Review By: Joe D

THOR Movie Review By: Joe D I thought it would be interesting to get an honest review done on THOR by someone who actually has read the comic books and knows the mythology behind the story. And who better to ask than Joe D . Joe has been a comic book fan for life and with all the comic book films coming out this summer you can bet you'll hear from Joe again. So without further adieu Here'ssss Joe. My name is Joe. John has asked me to review Thor for him from my comic book geek standpoint. Thanks to John, I was able to get an advance screening pass to see Thor this past Saturday morning… and I have to say, the short review is… Go. See. It. Now… first off, as I mentioned, I’m a comic book geek . I’ve thoroughly been enjoying the onslaught of comic book movies within the last few years. I’m glad comics are finally getting the notoriety they deserve as a story-telling medium. Now, don’t get me wrong… there have been plenty of movies out there that have been mediocre at best
