Ex-Venkman no longer afraid of no ghosts. By Brandon Wolfe Bill Murray has famously spent the past two decades refusing to suit up for another Ghostbusters , much to the consternation of fans and Dan Aykroyd. But now it seems that Murray’s hesitation to appear in another Ghostbusters film merely hinged on actually having to strap on a proton pack because the actor is now slated to appear in Paul Feig’s currently filming Ghostbusters reboot. Murray was recently spotted heading toward the Boston set of the film to shoot a small part. However, don’t expect to see the actor reprising his iconic role as Dr. Peter Venkman. Birth Movies Death claims that Murray will be portraying a paranormal debunker named Martin Heiss, a role written expressly for the actor. Murray joins fellow former boy-in-grey Aykroyd, who also recently shot a cameo for the film. That just leaves out poor Ernie Hudson, but he has to be used to that by now. The most recent news of Andy Serkis ’ take on The Jungle Book , Jungle Book: Origins , was word of the film’s release moving back a year. Jon Favreau ’s Disney version is facing no such shifts and has just released both a logo (above) and some new concept art for the film. With a script by Justin Marks, Favreau’s film will use the blend of computer-generated animals and Neel Sethi in person as Mowgli, the human orphan raised by animals in the jungle to unspool Rudyard Kipling's story. Christopher Walken is set to voice King Louie, ruler of the jungle’s monkeys and apes, while Giancarlo Esposito is Akela, leader of the wolf pack that initially cares for Mowgli. In very depressing news for those of us feeling old, it’s now been 30 years since 1984’s Ghostbusters first graced the big screen. In more exciting news, the director and some of the stars of that beloved comedy reunited for Entertainment Weekly's latest Reunions issue that hits stands Friday.
