Dwayne Johnson To Star In Doc Savage Film

If it seems like Dwayne Johnson is attached to a new film almost every other day, that's probably because he is. And he's a workaholic, who has probably lifted more weight today than many of us manage in a week. His latest announcement, though, confirms what had been rumored and talked about for a while: he's attached to star in Doc Savage for co-writer/director Shane Black.

The Iron Man 3 director has made no secret of the fact that he thinks Johnson is right for the lead in the film, and now Johnson has hit Instagram with a picture (see below) of Black and his co-writers Anthony Bagarozzi and Chuck Mondry sitting with Johnson and production partner Hiram Garcia to, in The Rock's words, "chop up creative and break story on this very cool project. Comic book fans around the world know that the cool thing about 'Doc' Savage is that he's the inspiration for Superman. First name Clark, called "Man of Bronze", retreats to his 'Fortress of Solitude' in the Arctic etc etc." Plus there this: "Here's the #1 reason I'm excited to become Doc Savage.. HE'S A F*CKING HILARIOUS WEIRDO!" Quite.

Black has been aboard the project since at least 2009, looking to adapt the iconic pulp character into a new big screen form. Raised from birth by scientists to be the perfect hero, Savage boasted a staggering number of skills, including scientist, inventor, physician and explorer. Among the most popular characters in 1930s and 40s pulps, Savage's stories were chronicled in nearly 200 novels and across radio, film and TV. Author Lester Dent was his most prolific writer, and it’s his books that Black and his team have been working from.

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim...

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert?

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert? We're halfway checked out for the holiday weekend, so let's end with bit of comedy. A litigious videogame player is calling Winona Ryder to testify as an expert in "alienation." Erik Estavillo has filed a $1 million lawsuit in California Superior Court against Activision Blizzard, publisher of "World of Warcraft," saying it "maintain(s) a harmful virtual environment to many of its customers by forcing them to follow the game's sneaky and deceitful practices." The plaintiff says he suffers from several mental health problems brought on by WoW's "alienating" features, such as forcing beginners to walk or run to get from one point to another instead of speedier options available to those who master the game or buy an expansion pack. Estavillo says that the slow pace is "deceitful" because more time = more subscription revenue for Activision. Here's where Winona Ryder comes...
