Stop the rumor mill and crank up the fact cannon: Kristen Wiig is indeed joining Wonder Woman 2 . Word had been going around that the actor would be stepping in as Diana Prince’s next nemesis, and the news has now been confirmed by director Patty Jenkins herself. Writing on Twitter, Jenkins said: “So excited to confirm the thrilling news. Yes! It’s true! So incredibly lucky to welcome the sensationally talented Kristen Wiig to our Wonder Woman family. Can’t wait to finally work with one of my favorites. And SO excited by what we have planned.” Jenkins also confirmed via a hashtag that Wiig will be playing Cheetah — a villain who’s appeared in various comic incarnations through the years. He courted controversy by finishing the HBO series with a cut to black. Now David Chase is revisiting his The Sopranos , planning a prequel film to the show called The Many Saints Of Newark . Chase has apparently had this idea bubbling in the back of his head since at least the end of the show in 2007, and now New Line is developing the film. The writer and producer, who has previously said he'd never revisit the world and its characters except in the form of a prequel, and he's now written the script with Lawrence Konner, who worked on the series. The Sopranos launched in 1999, following the lives of various mobsters in New Jersey, and focusing on Tony Soprano (the late James Gandolfini ). It won accolades and awards for its knotty stories, ending up with 21 Emmy Awards. It's not yet known which, if any of the characters will show up, since the story for this one is set in the 1960s, when the rivalry between African Americans and Italians turned violent. Chase has

Lucasfilm is excited to announce that Emmy-nominated producer and actor Jon Favreau has signed on to executive produce and write a live-action Star Wars series for Disney’s new direct-to-consumer platform. Favreau is no stranger to the Star Wars galaxy having played roles in both the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series and in the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story . “I couldn’t be more excited about Jon coming on board to produce and write for the new direct-to-consumer platform,” says Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. “Jon brings the perfect mix of producing and writing talent, combined with a fluency in the Star Wars universe.
