New Pacific Rim Uprising Trailer & Poster

The globe-spanning conflict between otherworldly monsters of mass destruction and the human-piloted super-machines built to vanquish them was only a prelude to the all-out assault on humanity in Pacific Rim Uprising . John Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) stars as the rebellious Jake Pentecost, a once-promising Jaeger pilot whose legendary father gave his life to secure humanity’s victory against the monstrous “Kaiju.” Jake has since abandoned his training only to become caught up in a criminal underworld. But when an even more unstoppable threat is unleashed to tear through our cities and bring the world to its knees, he is given one last chance to live up to his father’s legacy by his estranged sister, Mako Mori ( Rinko Kikuchi )—who is leading a brave new generation of pilots that have grown up in the shadow of war. Ryan Reynolds To Star In Clue Reboot

Thanks in no small part to Deadpool, Ryan Reynolds has a lot more clout these days, especially at Fox. He's parlaying that into a first-look film deal between his production company, Maximum Effort and the studio. The first title in his sights? The long-gestating new movie version of board game Clue . The mystery title where players must figure out the suspect, locale and murder weapon was adapted into a comedy in 1985 that starred Tim Curry and Madeline Kahn . Universal, under its deal with Hasbro's Allspark Pictures arm had been developing a new version for years, with no success. In 2016, the game company snatched the rights back and set up the Fox attempt. Now Reynolds will produce and potentially star in the movie, which makes us think the comic element will still be strong with this one. Another clue – sorry, couldn't resist – is the actor bringing aboard Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. It sounds like Reynolds is getting more and more into the

#Jumanji Welcome To The Jungle Holding On Strong

Even though one of the new competitors was actually named 12 Strong , nothing that arrived at the American box office proved to be as tough as Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle , which continued to see off all comers. The action comedy took in $20 million (a drop of just 28 percent), according to studio estimates. With $316.9 million in the bank Stateside and a global total of more than $767 million, Jumanji is proving to be a powerhouse, while also benefitting from a seeming lack of worthy competition at this quiet time of year where the focus is on awards films over blockbuster entertainment. And despite its hoo-rah patriotism about American soldiers on horseback in Afghanistan post-9/11, 12 Strong only managed a second place launch with $16.5 million. Gerard Butler's latest, Den Of Thieves snuck in at third place with $15.3 million. The Post dropped a couple of places to fourth, earning $12.1 million, while The Greatest Showman rounded out the top five on $11 million. P
