BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Soundtrack Review: #JohnWickChapter2

John Wick: Chapter 2 - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack elevates the bloodbath and our appreciation of this burgeoning franchise. Review by Matt Cummings John Wick: Chapter 2 is perhaps the best film so far of 2017. Filled with enough violence to keep "Room Service" busy, the movie also incorporates a surprisingly rewarding story. By film's end, Wick is on the run from literally everyone, a victim of the rules that first brought him fame as The Boogeyman. This isn't what I would have expected from Director Chad Stahelski's carnage, that his titular hero would now be wanted by every assassin in the world for killing on Continental grounds. Central to my appreciation of Chapter 2 is its soundtrack, a deftly mix of orchestrations, guitar play, and rock anthems that elevates the bloodbath into new and unexpected territory. Assassin John Wick (Reeves) has a hard time retiring, whether it's in the pursuit of his stolen Mustang or in the "off

Movie Review: #FiftyShadesDarker

Christian and Anastasia renew their bondage bloodlush in a film only a masochist would find inviting. Review by Matt Cummings I seriously could not believe how bad 2015's Fifty Shades of Grey was until I went back to my original review. The worst offense was that its story failed to elevate the burgeoning awareness of the lifestyle, settling instead on a flawed character who decides to impart his pain on an unsuspecting doe. It was also a terribly dull affair, offering zero chemistry between its leads, and plodding through its inane plot like a death march. Seen through those lenses, 50 Shades Darker is as faithful a sequel as one could imagine, a bland and boring affair that actually sees less bondage, more of that bad chemistry, and a plot that only a masochist would find inviting. Fresh off her breakup, Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) is seeking big changes in her life, working for an ad agency while trying to put her painful breakup with Christian Grey (Jamie

Movie Review: #JohnWickChapter2

The further adventures of John Wick bring more guns, punches, and an actual story in a memorable follow-up to the original. Review by Matt Cummings If anyone would have told you that 2015 would feature Keanu Reeves in a career-defining movie, as well as one of the best films of that year, you would have thought me crazy. But that's just what happened with John Wick , a gift to action film that brought about the word "Gun-Fu". Audiences were blown away by that film's brazen violence, incredible hand-to-hand combat, and the absolute gut punch of its titular character experiencing incredible loss. But when the credits rolled and we got off that amazing rollercoaster, the next question that inevitably arose was "What's next?" Luckily, that answer brings with it an expansion of this universe that makes John Wick: Chapter 2 so appealing. Assassin John Wick (Reeves) has a hard time retiring, whether it's in the pursuit of his stolen Mustang

Movie Review: #TheLEGOBatmanMovie

The Dark Knight tackles his feelings for The Joker in the fun but flawed The LEGO Batman Movie . Review by Matt Cummings If you were like me, 2014's The LEGO Movie was not only hilarious but a breath of fresh air. It took the now-crowded (and somewhat predictable) animated landscape and turned it on its ear, by taking the genre through the Fourth Wall with memorable results. And while The LEGO Batman Movie is fun and quite good, it's clearly not on the same level with the original. But is that demotion enough of a reason not to see it? Billionaire Bruce Wayne and his doppelganger Batman (voiced by Will Arnett) revel in the life each has created for themselves. For the Caped Crusader, it's once again capturing the notorious Joker (Zach Galifianakis), all while Gotham City celebrates Batman's greatness. For Wayne, life is about parties and acquisitions until he meets the new chief of police Barbara Gordon (Rosario Dawson), who suggests that Batman's

New Clip From EAGLES OF DEATH METAL: NOS AMIS (OUR FRIENDS) Documentary

This HBO Documentary Film follows the American rock band Eagles of Death Metal as they recount their experiences before, during and after the tragic terrorist attack at their concert in Paris on November 13, 2015 – a heinous act of violence that claimed 89. The film spotlights the deep bond of friendship between band co-founders Jesse Hughes and Josh Homme as well as the intensely personal connection that the Eagles of Death Metal has always had with their devoted fans. That relationship, coupled with a profound sense of responsibility to help the Bataclan survivors cope with their physical and emotional wounds, inspired the band to return to Paris: first to perform with U2 at a rescheduled concert three weeks after the attacks, and later to finish the Paris show at the Olympia concert hall in front of their fans, many of whom were survivors of the earlier show. Running time: Approx. 83 minutes Please Leave A Comment-
