Movie Review: #TheInfiltrator

The Infiltrator is a competent but all too familiar cop drama. Review by Matt Cummings Actor Bryan Cranston is well known for coming up with unexpected solutions to his characters' predicaments. But while his newest film The Infiltrator sees him bring another A-game performance, the film itself doesn't have much to say that we haven't seen before. It's really tense drama by the numbers, workman-like in its production and entirely too long. Cranston plays former federal customs agent Robert Mazur, who becomes embroiled in a case to take down none other than the Medellín Cartel. A gang who took drug dealing and money laundering to new heights in the 80's, the cartel was also a savage one, utilizing brutal techniques to maintain loyalties. It's in this charged environment that the rather quiet Mazur dives headfirst, hoping to cut the head off this beast before it completely engulfs the country. To do that, he'll need a dedicated team of agents

Movie Review: Ghostbusters

New film is flawed, but not worth all the mass hysteria. Review by Brandon Wolfe The acrimony that has greeted Paul Feig’s reboot of Ghostbusters has been historic. It is quite possible that no film, in the long, angry, two-decade history of the Internet, has been so aggressively pre-hated. A toxic fusion of fierce overprotectiveness of the beloved original 1984 film coupled with ghastly, rampant sexism over the new film’s all-female cast has had denizens of online forums and social media frothing at the mouth with outrage at the film for having the gall to exist. Legions of pasty, irate true believers have heaved bile all over any and every mention of the film to appear online. The teaser trailer—admittedly not a great one—bore the dubious distinction of being voted the most disliked movie trailer in the history of YouTube. The knives have been out for this movie in a truly unprecedented way. So now that it’s finally here, does 2016’s Ghostbusters deserve all the sight-unseen a

First Look At King Arthur: Legend of the Sword

King Arthur : Get your first look at Jude Law as a medieval villain, EW scored the first images from the film. Did anyone really expect pub-brawl auteur Guy Ritchie (Snatch) to deliver a straightforward, hither-and-thither take on the once and future king? Of course not. In King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (due out March 24), he’s dirty and beat up and rugged. See more images after the Jump... And even though Charlie Hunnam might still pull a sword from a stone to begin his journey to the throne, his Arthur is a little more street than his forebears. “He’s a bit rough around the edges, but he’s basically a survivor,” Hunnam says. “There’s definitely a harder edge than people would imagine.” That edge serves him well when dealing with his tyrannical uncle, Jude Law’s Vortigern, who’s got more than a bad boy appeal to defend himself. Charlie Hunnam's King Arthur won't be a 'good guy' from the beginning As the murderer of his brother and Arthur’s dad Uth
