Kubo's quest begins nationwide August 19, 2016 from animation studio LAIKA and Focus Features. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim tweeted that production on season 5 has officially started today with the premiere episode titled “Legacy,” directed by James Bamford. Actor David Ramsey who plays John Diggle said at Heroes & Villains Fan Fest, via People, that his character will rock a new mask created by Cisco. And Ramsey’s co-star, Stephen Amell confirmed, also at the same event, that pro-wrestler, Cody Rhodes a.k.a Stardust, will guest star in an episode of this new season. And actress Madison McLaughlin who previously played Evelyn Sharp who impersonated the fallen Black Canary, is coming back as a masked archer called Artemis who in the comics was the daughter of villains Tigress and Sportsmaster, and also a member of the Injutice Society but in DC animated series, “Young Justice,” she was Green Arrow’s sidekick after Roy Harper left the group. Freeform has picked up Alone Togethe r, a comedy pilot from The Lonely Island trio Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone , and Akiva Schaffer. According to a press release, Alone Together is a half-hour comedy that focuses on “two overlooked millennial misfits from different backgrounds as they try to make their way into the vain and status-obsessed culture of Los Angeles only to find salvation in their male/female strictly platonic friendship.” Esther Povitsky and Benji Afalo will star, write, and executive produce the pilot along with Eben Russell, who will write and executive produce. Deadline is reporting Joe and Anthony Russo are taking a breather from the Marvel world to adapt cult-classic film The Warrior s as a one-hour drama with Paramount TV and Hulu. The brothers will reimagine Walter Hill’s iconic 1979 film, itself an adaptation of Sol Yurick’s classic novel. Their take will honor the original film while adding its own unique brand of grit, pulp, sex and violence. The Russo brothers will team with writer Frank Baldwin on the series. The Russo brothers will direct the pilot, although no word yet as to any directing commitment beyond that. The film was set in 1979, at a time when parts of New York still resembled war-torn Mogadishu, torn apart by rivalry between deadly gangs. A charismatic leader summons these street gangs of New York City in a bid to take it over. When he is shot and killed during the rally, one of the gangs, the Warriors, is falsely blamed for his death and its member must fight their way home while every other gang is hunting them down
