Star Wars #Theforceawakens Review. Short & Spoiler Free

Review by: John Meneghetti As you all should know by now Star Wars: The Force Awakens was, or is, my most anticipated film for this year. And why not, I did name my daughter after the princess. I also tattooed her on my leg. I want to keep all the spoilers out of this so this review will be straight to the point. Look for Matt's comprehensive review later this week and make sure to listen to our upcoming podcast for everything Star Wars. So let's begin. GO SEE THIS MOVIE IN RPK, DX, IMAX or somewhere with awesome picture and sounds first off. We saw it in a small and older theater with really shitty sound. But I do appreciate seeing it early. I liked how it holds up as its own perfect stand-alone movie and only requires you to know the basic Star Wars mythology to enjoy it. We all knew that the crawl was going to be there at the beginning of the movie. We learn the back story of who Finn, Rey, and Poe Dameron are all about. Or do we? We also learn what

2015 TV Winners and Losers

A look back at the highs and lows of 2015 television. By Brandon Wolfe Winners 1. Fargo (FX) Last year’s biggest surprise has evolved into television’s most consistently excellent and creatively energized series. In its second year, Fargo unleashed a boldly complex, tightly interwoven narrative concerning a brutal gang war in 1979, the hapless couple (Jesse Plemons and Kirsten Dunst) who unwittingly ignite the fuse between the warring factions and the decent cop (Patrick Wilson) trying to keep order amidst the chaos and bloodshed. With a knockout cast, superb humor, delightful characters, defiant weirdness (those UFOs!) and more Coen Brothers references than you can shake a snow shovel at, Fargo is the best thing on the air right now, you betcha. 2. Justified (FX) After a penultimate season that seemed muddled and confused, FX’s contemporary Western came roaring back with its guns a-blazing, brimming with renewed purpose. The ballad of Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) and

#StarWarsTheForceAwakens Advance Ticket Sales Pass $100m

The film debuts to American audiences on Thursday night. Story by Matt Cummings December is usually a slow time for films, even as Hollywood dons its brightest stars in a bevy of Oscars candidates. But all of them could be wiped out by Star Wars: The Force Awakens , as The Hollywood Reporter announced that advance ticket sales had reached $100m in North America. This number is the highest for any upcoming film, beating out sales for Age of Ultron and Jurassic World. The $100m figure includes the $50-60m in sales for the opening weekend, which as you may remember shut down servers, forcing audiences to visit theaters directly to purchase their tickets. Disney has continued to decline comment on the real numbers, but emails from vendors such as Cinemark have already announced that they expanding the amount of screenings. According to THR, theaters owners agreed to take the movie if they promised to play it for four to five weeks. This isn't an uncommon practice, but
