BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Jon Bernthal Cast as The Punisher in Daredevil Season 2

Walking Dead alum to play gun-toting Marvel antihero. By Brandon Wolfe It has been revealed that not only will The Punisher be making his MCU debut in Season 2 of Netflix’s Daredevil , but that Jon Bernthal ( The Walking Dead ’s Shane) will follow in the footsteps of Dolph Lundgren, Thomas Jane and Ray Stevenson as skull-shirted vigilante Frank Castle. No word yet on if this incarnation of the Punisher will be hero, villain or antihero. The smart money is that he will be the darker mirror image of Matt Murdock’s more morally upstanding crusader, and that the two will oppose each other. Daredevil ’s second season will premiere on Netflix in 2016. Discuss this story with fellow SJF fans on Facebook . Fall 2015 Television Preview: CBS

We continue our look at the Fall television season by focusing on CBS's offerings. Story by Sue Lukenbaugh CBS let go of Battle Creek , The McCarthy's , The Mentalist , The Millers , Reckless , Stalker , Two and a Half Men , and Unforgettable . They also canceled CSI , but the long running show will get a send off in the form of a movie event. For the 2015 season, CBS has some good concepts for their shows this season, but either the execution is all wrong or the trailers are, with the exception of only one. There are a few stand outs though. Angel From Hell – THURSDAYS 930|830c THIS FALL Plot: Allison, a dermatologist, is organized and perfect, but her life is derailed when she meets brash, outspoken Amy, who claims to be her guardian angel in this irresistible comedy about an unlikely friendship. My Verdict: It's interesting, and even draws a few laughs. Allison's disbelief and Amy's craziness became tiresome in the long 5 minute preview. Ke

Why Marvel Might Not Need SDCC Anymore

How will today's confirmation affect the largest geek fest in the world? Story by Matt Cummings Even though the insanity that is San Diego Comic-Con makes enjoying the July event a real hassle, it's still clear that studios love the venue for its ability to release big stories to thousands of adoring fans. Together with social media, it's become the most effective (and cheapest) way to get your new television show or movie casting out there. But in recent years - particularly in 2014 - some studios began to re-think their strategies of waiting until the annual madness to build anticipation. Take Marvel Studios for example, the consistent darling of past conventions and the group particularly responsible for the way the current convention is covered and orchestrated. With their near lack of news last year for either 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy , 2016's Doctor Strange , or even this year's Ant-Man , it was clear that something was either amiss o

Brad Pitt 's War Machine Headed To Netflix

Netflix has been making big inroads to acquire original content to go alongside the back catalogs it buys up. The company has made plenty of moves with TV, but is ramping up its efforts to make movies, dropping cash on deals with the likes of Adam Sandler and Idris Elba . Now it has made its biggest commitment yet, grabbing distribution rights to War Machine , which will star Brad Pitt . Animal Kingdom and The Rover’s director David Michod will be behind the camera, and he’s also adapted the script from late journalist Michael Hastings’ book The Operators: The Wild And Terrifying Inside Story Of America’s War In Afghanistan . Pitt will star as a top general in the US armed forces, overseeing the conflict and a mission that is riddled with problems, corruption and cock-ups. It’s all loosely based on General Stanley McChrystal, who oversaw the US operation in Afghanistan and thought himself the bee’s knees until he badmouthed the White House, was recalled and resigned.
