Charismatic while perpetually monotone, funny while dry as the Sahara, Duchovny’s quirkiness and ability to engage are not impeded by his clinical, manbot exterior. Actor will commit to three July 4ths. By Brandon Wolfe William Fichtner has been cast in a leading role in the forthcoming, currently filming Independence Day sequel. Deadline also drops the hint that there might be more Independence Day s yet ahead of us, as Fichtner has also been penciled in for two additional ID4 installments. Though there once existed talk that this project would take the form of back-to-back sequels shot simultaneously, that plan fell by the wayside. Perhaps the story in the hopper for the alien sequel is simply too mothership-sized for a single film to contain, but why Fox has decided to make Independence Day a full-throttle franchise now, rather than in 1999 when that made sense, is anybody's guess. By Brandon Wolfe Starz has unleashed upon the world the latest teaser for its upcoming series Ash vs. Evil Dead , a continuation of the beloved cult-movie franchise Evil Dead , starring Bruce Campbell as wisecracking Deadite slayer Ash. The teaser contains no new footage, but leans heavily on Evil Dead iconography, with a blood-drenched chainsaw being affixed to a man’s hand while a signature Ash catchphrase is uttered. San Andreas is big, loud, summer disaster fun, but is that enough to see it? Review by Matt Cummings Disaster films are always best viewed with the most minimum of expectations: make it big, make it loud, and hope all of the tearful goodbyes aren't too wincing. And although the human drama and the science behind Director Brad Peyton's San Andreas isn't great, the action is superb and performances good enough to warrant you take a chance.
