BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Chris Pine in Talks to Join DCCU

Learn what role he is slated to play. Story by Matt Cummings It's pretty clear that Actor Chris Pine makes everything he's in that much better. He's been a great Captain Kirk in the Star Trek reboots, a very good Jack Ryan in the recent Shadow Recruit , and even made Horrible Bosses 2 a livable experience. So it was bound to happen that the star would join either the Marvel Cinematic Universe or the DC one; the question was which one would be smart enough to get him. It now looks like we know what universe he will join and what role he might play. According to Variety , Pine is in negotiations to play a major role in Warner Bros.' Wonder Woman, that being none other than Colonel Steve Trevor. In the comics, Trevor is the human liaison and love interest to Wonder Woman who crashes his WWII plane on Paradise Island, the isolated home of the Amazons. He was rescued by Diana and brought back to America, where the two worked for the US government. In the

#PointBreak Reboot High Octane Trailer

In Alcon Entertainment’s fast-paced, high-adrenaline action thriller Point Break, a young FBI agent, Johnny Utah ( Bracey ), infiltrates a cunning team of thrill seeking elite athletes, led by the charismatic Bodhi ( Ramirez ). The film is replete with the most daring athleticism ever seen in a motion picture. These action adventure feats are performed by extreme athletes representing the world’s best in class in big-wave surfing, wingsuit flying, sheer-face snowboarding, free rock climbing, and high-speed motorcycling. Point Break also co-stars Teresa Palmer, Ray Winstone, Delroy Lindo, and Tobias Santelmann. It’s set to be released in the US on Christmas Day. Are you looking forward to this? P

Television Review: #TexasRising Doesn't Get It Quite Right...Again

The History Channel miniseries doesn't get it quite right...again. Review by Matt Cummings For something whose name suggests they should hold the monopoly on truth, The History Channel seems enamored with constantly telling its own embellished version of America's story. From the terribly-inaccurate Sons of Liberty to The Hatfields and McCoys , History doesn't quite get that our story doesn't need a dramatic touch to be excellent. Such is the case with Texas Rising , the 10-hour, 5-parter mega story that mires us in dirt, filth, and soap-opera dialogue while doing very little to tell us the real story of Texas' genesis. Starting off with the longest dialogue crawl in recent memory (it goes on like Dark Helmet's ship in Spaceballs ), Texas Rising sets us immediately into the center of The Alamo, the fort which Mexico General Santa Anna ( Olivier Martinez )had destroyed in 1836. Word gets back to the commander of the resistance Sam Houston ( Bill Paxton

New #POINTBREAK Poster

We’ve seen the film’s two leads, the new poster shows off some more of the attitude (and the altitude). This new version of the extreme sports criminals action-thriller finds Luke Bracey taking over the Johnny Utah role once occupied by Keanu Reeves , while Edgar Ramirez slips on the wetsuit as Bodhi, formerly played by Patrick Swayze . Once more, Utah is an FBI agent in way over his head, working undercover with a group of thrill-seekers who also like to pull off staggering crimes. Director Ericson Core’s take on the story ups the stakes even higher, with the criminals not limiting themselves to basic bank robberies, but trying truly audacious heists that involve all sorts of different sports to carry them out. Although if we’re honest, they’re going to have to go some to match up with Dominic Toretto and the Fast & Furious crew. The poster suggests that the Point Break lot obey the laws of gravity, while Dom and co. whisk said laws into protein shakes and chug them down
