Despite a first look at Comic-Con last year, and logos and props on display, the characters have been tantalisingly out of reach. Part of the reason Jones and his team have held back on footage is that the effects wizards at Industrial Light And Magic are still busy turning raw footage of performance-capture work, concept art and empty scene plates into shots of marauding armies and quieter character moments. As for Orgrim, he certainly has the right look, and manages to effectively blend some realism with the Warcraft games' slighly caricatured aesthetic. Yes, the likes of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Eiffel Tower and the Houses of Parliament are once more being assaulted, this time by Pac-Man, Centipede and Space Invaders. It’s all in service of Adam Sandler’s new action-comedy, which finds extra-terrestrials misreading video feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war. They decide to attack us using versions of ships and other icons from games and mankind has to fight back. Review by Matt Cummings In Director Basel Owies' The Barber , the serial killer Eugene (Scott Glenn) has hid from the police for two decades after a string of brutal murders were initially tied to him. Having outwitted the police, Eugene has settled in to the quiet town Moraine as the local barber. But when the drifter John (Chris Coy) appears to get lessons from the now-senior citizen, Eugene must decide if he's worthy to be let in to his exclusive murder club. Let's be clear: The Barber doesn't do anything new, settling instead on the plot of 'murderer next door.' But that doesn't mean first-timer Owies and Cinematographer Allen Liu squander the small budget with cheap thrills or over-the-top performances.
