BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

First Look At Johnny Depp In POTC: Dead Men Tell No Tale

So far, Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales , the fifth installment of the sea-going mega-franchise, has largely been weathering storms of bad buzz. Word of script changes, weather delays and, most recently, Johnny Depp injuring his hand have not helped matters. Looking to get something a little more positive out there, producer Jerry Bruckheimer has unveiled a first look at Depp in the film. Unsurprisingly, he looks very much as you’d expect: Jack Sparrow being Jack Sparrow, getting into trouble and looking wide-eyed as he does so. The adventure this time has Kon-Tiki directors Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning sharing the captain’s chair, with Jack once again down on his luck. He’s being buffeted by even more ill fortune than usual, as deadly ghost pirates led by old nemesis Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem) escape from the Devil’s Triangle and start to kill every pirate at sea… Including hunting our hero. To survive, Jack will have to find the legendary Triden

Third Star Trek Will Feature An Original Villain

Enterprise to face The Wrath of New Guy. By Brandon Wolfe With Simon Pegg writing at warp speed to finish the script for the third Star Trek film in time for its impending June start date, the actor/screenwriter has taken a quick breather to inform MTV that Idris Elba’s mystery villain will not be a familiar face from existing Trek lore, dodging the Khan issue that plagued Star Trek Into Darkness . "It will be [an original character], yes,” says Pegg. “This is the five-year mission now, we're out there. We don't always have to keep bumping into the same people…So we're gonna try and reflect that in the movie." Pegg also reiterates that the script, which is being co-written by Doug Jung, will hew much closer to the feel of the original series than the previous J.J. Abrams films have thus far. "We can invest in it the spirit of the show and get back to the essence of what it is, and so what we're hoping to do is make a Star Trek for today t

Marvel’s Daredevil Renewed For Second Season

Marvel hero will get Round 2 on Netflix. By Brandon Wolfe After garnering many rave reviews (and some more tepid ones ) in its 11 days thus far of release, Marvel’s Daredevil has been renewed for a second season on Netflix. However, Season 2 will see a new pair of showrunners, as Doug Petrie ( Buffy the Vampire Slayer ) and Marco Ramirez ( Sons of Anarchy ) will take the reins from Steven DeKnight and Drew Goddard. No word on just when we might expect to binge Season 2, as the plan for the Neflix Marvel shows has been for A.K.A. Jessica Jones , Iron Fist and Luke Cage to follow Daredevil , leading to The Defenders , a small-screen, Avengers -style team up of all of the Marvel Netflix heroes. Given the heat on Daredevil right now, it stands to reason that Marvel might not want to wait such a long time to bring back Matt Murdock. Discuss this story with fellow SJF fans on Facebook .
