Might the Wire star be playing a Klingon? By Brandon Wolfe Variety has reported that Idris Elba has entered into talks to play the primary villain in the third Star Trek film. The nature of Elba’s role has not been revealed, but rumors have persisted that the Klingons will be the villainous focus of the new film. The film is being directed by Justin Lin, written by Simon Pegg and Doug Jung, and produced by J.J. Abrams. Production begins in June for a 2016 release.
