Scarface Remake Is Moving Forward

Say hello to my little friend — again. According to THR , Universal is moving forward with its Scarface remake and has tapped Straight Outta Compton writer Jonathan Herman to do the rewrite. Paul Attanasio and David Ayer wrote previous drafts of the film, which will be a new and original take on the immigrant story, which spawned films in 1932 and 1983. The 1983 version, which was released by Universal, tells the story of Cuban refugee Tony Montana ( Al Pacino ) who arrives in 1980s Miami with nothing and rises up to become a powerful drug kingpin. That film made the expression, "Say hello to my little friend," one of the most iconic lines in cinema. The new film will be set in Los Angeles and explore an immigrant's rise in the criminal underworld. Herman has become a go-to writer at Universal, having penned the Straight Outta Compton draft that received the green light from the studio. He is currently in development on The Demonologist and The Birds remake at

#Maxmovie Trailer Is Here Starring @RobbieAmell

As American Sniper proved a monster hit at the US box office, director Boaz Yoakin and the team behind Max must have been counting their blessings. Because this one combines inspirational military behaviour, a cute dog and a troubled teen all wrapped up in one mostly-–easy–to–digest package. The Max of the film is the dog – a working Marine pooch that has been serving in Afghanistan alongside his handler, Kyle ( Robbie Amell ). But when Kyle is killed in action, a shell-shocked Max is shipped off back home to recuperate and learn to live without him. Which is where Kyle’s family come in, and particularly his bolshie little brother Justin ( Josh Wiggins ). See, Josh is looking for a little direction in his life and when it’s discovered that no-one can work with Max given his PTSD, Justin is roped in to try and reach out to the dog. We’d say you can guess what’s coming next, but the trailer pretty much spells that out, and we don't mean it goes all Cujo. How you approach th

TV Review: Better Call Saul "Bingo"

Jimmy finds it’s not easy being sleazy. Yet. Review by Brandon Wolfe The road to Saul Goodman is a twistier one for Jimmy McGill than initially expected. Many Better Call Saul episodes thus far have seemed to indicate that the naïve young (-ish) attorney was only a hop, skip and a jump away from becoming the unscrupulous shyster we came to know on Breaking Bad . Yet “Bingo” shows that the path to becoming a strip-mall sleazeball was littered with moments of selfless virtue for Jimmy, at the steep cost of money and career advancement. Jimmy still has a lot of pesky integrity he’ll need to shake off before he completes his journey. “Bingo” finds Jimmy experiencing some measure of success in his newfound focus on elder law, charming the old biddies at the nursing home as the zany bingo announcer. He’s earmarked a roomy office with a stellar view (even if that view is of downtown Albuquerque). Even Chuck seems to be showing some improvement, venturing outside for quick intervals
