James Franco has been on a run of adapting novels recently, and for his latest directorial job, he’s turning Steve Erickson’s 2007 book Zeroville into a film. The new project will find him turning the tables (and cameras) on his This Is The End co-star/director Seth Rogen , with Jacki Weaver, Megan Fox, Danny McBride, Horatio Sanz, Dave Franco, Craig Robinson and Will Ferrell all also aboard. Zeroville , which Paul Felton and Ian Olds have scripted, finds Franco as a young, movie-obsessed architecture student arriving in Hollywood in 1969 and almost immediately mistaken for one of the perpetrators in the Charles Manson murders. He’s plunged into a world of sex, fame and drugs as the old guard movie studios decline and the renegade directors rise, and he’s present for the big changes in the 1980s. The CW's The Flash is not waiting long to bring in a new love interest for the fastest man alive. The Vampire Diaries and Star-Crossed alum Malese Jow has been tapped to recur and play pivotal DC Comics character Linda Park , The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The character is described as a quick-witted reporter for the Central City Picture News. She befriends Iris ( Candice Patton ) while at work and helps her navigate the fast-paced world of journalism. When she meets Barry Allen ( Grant Gustin ) at a local bar, the two hit it off. The character will first appear in episode 112. In its efforts to be seen as competing with Marvel’s ever-expanding movie universe, Warner Bros. put out its own slate of Justice League-flavoured films recently. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio and DC Comics are looking to change things up behind the camera, aiming to hire a female director for Wonder Woman . While it shouldn't have to be seen as a landmark decision, the fact remains that despite early discussions on several films, there has yet to be a female director on either Warner Bros. or Marvel’s current efforts (you have to reach back to 2008’s Punisher: War Zone to find Lexi Alexander bringing a studio effort to life). And finding a good director to bring Gal Gadot ’s first solo outing as Wonder Woman would be a firm step forward on that front. Lifetime has found its Marilyn Monroe . Pan Am and The Aviator alum Kelli Garner has been tapped to play the blonde bombshell in the cabler's upcoming miniseries Marilyn, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. In Marilyn , a four-hour miniseries based on J. Randy Taraborrelli's book, The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe , Garner will topline the drama that explores Monroe's family life and how she succeeded in hiding from an all-too-invasive world. Garner's Monroe is described as a woman who will walk red carpets in shimmering gowns while fighting a battle against demons she's inherited from her mentally ill mother Gladys (Susan Sarandon, Dead Man Walking), whom she loves, hates and wants desperately to save. Flush with ambition for their new slate of superhero adventures, Warner Bros. and DC appear to be planning more crossovers. Nothing is confirmed yet, but according to Deadline , the companies are talking to Jesse Eisenberg about bringing his take on Lex Luthor from Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice to the film based on the Suicide Squad that has David Ayer attached to direct. As of right now, it’s only at the discussion stage mostly because Eisenberg has a busy schedule ahead. NBC has tapped The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons to topline its animated holiday special Elf: Buddy’s Musical Christmas set to air December 16 at 8 PM. Maebh claims something's chasing her so the Doctor lets her in. The Doctor calls up Clara and learns that Maebh is one of hers and Danny's students that had all gone together to an overnight stay at the London National History Museum. The entire world has been covered by forests in just a few hours. Danny's not happy to learn that Clara's still in touch with The Doctor but together, they lead the students to meet The Doctor in Trafalgar Square. Here’s a turn up for the (magic) books… Months after he was originally rumoured for the role, and after various potential contenders have come and gone, it appears Benedict Cumberbatch is indeed Marvel’s choice to be Doctor Strange . According to Deadline , the once and future Sherlock is in negotiations for the role, but with no formal confirmation from Marvel yet, this one will have to linger on the margins of the rumoursphere for a little longer. From the sounds of it, the deal is all but done and Cumberbatch is probably already being measured for capes and such by director Scott Derrickson . Remember when the 21st century seemed like an eternity away? In the latter half of the last century, Hollywood got pretty imaginative guessing what awaited us in the near-future, with ray guns or hoverboards or some other gadget that is still, in 2014, years or decades away from even having the chance of becoming commonplace. Some of these films, like 1989's " Back to the Future Part II " (which depicted flying cars as a popular form of transportation in the year 2015) took an optimistic approach, while others (take 1982's grim " Blade Runner ") held a more dystopian view -- as was certainly the case with one of the most ground-breaking sci-fi films of that era, 1984's " The Terminator ." It was conceived as a low-budget flick that would quickly be forgotten (with almost no expectations from the studio that it would ever become a success), but " The Terminator " has defied just about all predictions over the last three decades.

TV Review: Constantine“Non Est Asylum” By: Brandon Wolfe John Constantine , the “exorcist, demonologist and master of the dark arts” protagonist of DC’s ‘ Hellblazer ’ comic series, has made an appearance once before in the realm of live-action, portrayed by, of all people, Keanu Reeves in a 2005 film. Constantine , in the comics, is blonde and exceedingly British. Keanu Reeves is not those things. And though that film and Reeves’ performance are stronger than their reputations would suggest, such stark changes imposed on the character right out of the gate didn’t set him up to succeed with his fanbase. It's finally here, and maybe just maybe the writers won't be too mean and answer some of the cliffhangers. Just how permanent is Nick's grimmlessness, will Renard survive, and will Wu ever come into the light and know about Wesen? Captain Renard is rushed into surgery. Hank gets the news where the Captain is, but nothing on his condition. The shooter didn't know Trubel was a Grimm until he vogued, which gave her time to grab the machete and behead him and probably saved Renard's life. Trubel has no clue what was in the vial only that Renard told her that Nick had to drink it to undo Adalindd's spell.
