TV Recap: DOCTOR WHO "FLATLINE"

TV Recap: DOCTOR WHO "FLATLINE"  By: Suepafly The Doctor's preparing to drop Clara off at the time and place from where he picked her up but when they exit, they find the TARDIS is half its normal size and they're in Bristol. Clara heads off to take a look around while the Doctor stays to try to figure out what's gone wrong with the TARDIS. Clara learns that people have been disappearing, after which they turn up in a mural on a pedestrian tunnel. She calls the Doctor to tell him what has happened and upon returning to the Tardis, finds it even smaller than before. The Doctor can't fit through the small external doors so she tells him to pick up the TARDIS and find whatever is doing the dimensional leaching. He hands her the psychic paper, the sonic screwdriver, and an audio/visual earpiece so he can keep in contact with her. Clara poses as "Doctor Oswald" and befriends a local graffiti artist, Rigsy, who is on community service. The Doctor doe

TV Recap: WALKING DEAD "STRANGERS"

TV Recap: WALKING DEAD "STRANGERS" By: Suepafly Terminus burns in the distance. Rick and his group are on the road again. Maggie is glad to have Glenn safe with her again, and so are we after that close call with the baseball bat last week. Rick is suspicious of Tara, but she saved Glenn, and he saved her. Tyrese and Carol fill water bottles. He’s forgiven her, and he needs to talk to the rest of the group. He doesn’t plan on mentioning what happened with Mika and Lizzie that he just needs to forget. A stray walker stands no chance against the group, and Michonne doesn’t even bother drawing her katana, she bashes the walker’s skull in with her rifle. Rick is thankful for everything that Carol has done for him. Not only did she save him, his baby but she recovered his watch. He still isn’t sure about what she did, but he did wrong too. He said she could survive, and she did. He sent her out into the wild, but he wants her back in the fold now. Carol and Daryl sit in ne

V/H/S: Viral Review

V/H/S: Viral Review By: Brandon Wolfe 2012’s ‘ V/H/S ’ found a new spin on the now-ubiquitous found-footage subgenre, employing the device in the service of a horror anthology. Essentially ‘Creepshow’ with camcorders. Telling five short stories about horror caught on amateur video, the film was a decidedly mixed bag. While the segment “Amateur Night,” about a succubus terrorizing a bunch of frat-boy creeps, was a hugely effective piece of work, the other segments ranged from solid to decent to lousy. Even so, the film maintained enough of a free-floating sense of dread throughout its various chapters to be held as a qualified success. I never saw its sequel, but the consensus there also seemed to indicate enough high notes were peppered in among the low to award the film some merit. But now the second sequel, ‘ V/H/S: Viral ,’ has arrived and it doesn’t receive quite as much as its predecessors by way of partial credit. Gone is the sense of white-knuckle foreboding that the or

Marley & Me Series Coming To NBC

NBC has handed out a hefty put-pilot commitment to a sequel to 2008 feature Marley & Me , The Hollywood Reporter has learned. From The Big C and Sex and the City alum Jenny Bicks, the single-camera comedy will pick up where the Fox 2000 Pictures/Regency Enterprises film — itself based on John Grogan's best-seller — left off. John (played by Owen Wilson in the film) and Jenny Grogan ( Jennifer Aniston ) and their two boys, now 14 and 11, have just moved back to Florida so that John can take up his newspaper column again. However, when a stray puppy ("owned," but not well, by their neighbors) ends up on their doorstep, they are forced to adopt it. This dog, named Marley for the fact that they use Marley's old leash and tags on her, is as willful, destructive and delightful as her original namesake. And she will help shed light not only on the growing pains of the Grogan family, but also the lives of the neighbors, and fellow dog-owners, around them. Bick

Eddie Murphy To Star In "Cook"

Eddie Murphy currently has a fourth Beverly Hills Cop and Twins sequel Triplets on the boil. Before he serves up either, however, he's preparing a more serious drama. He's signed on for the title role in Cook , which Bruce Beresford ( Driving Miss Daisy ) will direct. The story involves a dying man who hires Murphy to rustle up meals for his girlfriend and daughter after he's left this mortal coil. It was initially earmarked for Samuel L. Jackson until scheduling conflicts caused him to decline. Susan McMartin (Californication) wrote the script, and Mark Canton (300, Immortals, Escape Plan) is among the producers. "It's a great screenplay," Canton told Empire when we had cause to speak to him recently. "It's a small story - a true story - of a family and a guy who comes into their lives. You have to come up with either really great big franchise driven movies or little character driven movies. Those are the two businesses to be in. I'
