This is the character arc that Bassam has had earmarked since the pilot, embarking on a journey from wanting nothing to do with his country or legacy to gradually developing an inevitable thirst for power. After the debacle with the sheik’s death, Bassam has decided that Jamal’s incendiary temper makes him unfit to rule Abuddin, which is almost certainly true, but one begins to wonder how much of Bassam’s drive is truly motivated by what is best for his country versus what his own ego suddenly demands. You’re going to keep wondering about that, too, because Adam Rayner isn’t getting across any of the ruthless ambition fueling Bassam. Deadline is reporting MGM, Paramount and Timur Bekmambetov set a February 26, 2016, release date on an epic remake of Ben-Hur ; have they found their chariot driver in Tom Hiddleston ? I hear that he’s the one the studios are courting to play Judah Ben-Hur in the adaptation of the 1880 Lew Wallace novel Ben-Hur: A Tale Of The Christ , which was the biggest-selling novel of its time until it was eclipsed by Gone With The Wind . Hiddleston isn't being fitted for a toga just yet. He has other projects vying for his services, including the MGM pic Me Before You. Keith Clarke, who scripted the Peter Weir-directed The Way Back, wrote the script that MGM pounced on after that company got ambitious following its emergence from bankruptcy and huge hits in Skyfall and The Hobbit. The scribes are writing — separately — scripts for Aquaman , one of the installments in Warner Bros.’ multimovie scheme to create a cinematic universe based on the DC Entertainment characters. Aquaman is being developed on dual tracks, where studios and producers hire two separate writers to work on the same project in the hopes of getting the best version. The practice allows for release dates to be set while a project is still in development while giving it a muscular push. Warners needs just that as last week it dated nine untitled DC movies between 2016 and 2020. Warners is not revealing which one of those will be Aquaman , but the first untitled DC movie is due for release on Aug. 5, 2016, with two more due in 2017, on June 23 and Nov. 17, respectively.
