Every year, offsite events surrounding San Diego Comic-Con get just a little bigger, a little better — and FOX has stepped up its game in a huge way for 2014. Variety is reporting several offsite experiences around the convention center, promoting Sleepy Hollow and Gotham . Here’s the list of offsites events after the Jump... Sleppy Hollow fans can head to the Petco Interactive Zone (the parking lot beside Petco Park) for the “Sleepy Hollow Virtual Reality Experience, which will be open Thursday-Sunday from 9AM-6PM daily. There, attendees will be “transported” via an Oculus Rift headset (that we got a peek at the other day) into a virtual reality Sleepy Hollow experience, where they will be chased by a headless horseman. Variety is also reporting that cast and creative will make an appearance, which perhaps mean an offsite autograph signing. FOX will also be pushing Gotham hard this year, with the San Diego Trolleys already receiving a makeover to promote the show. The network

Visit the Xbox Lounge in the Seaport Ballroom on the second level of the Harbor Tower at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, Thursday through Sunday, and enjoy over 85 gaming stations, featuring more than 25 different Xbox games playable on Xbox One. The Xbox Lounge will also be hosting tournaments, special guest appearances and signings, and an exclusive Hulu experience where fans can pitch their superhero idea for the chance to have their character animated into an episode of The Awesomes and create their own custom superhero cape. Nickelodeon has a lot of great things happening at Comic-Con this year, and we wanted to make sure you are aware of the great story angles we have. We’re going to showcase our hit animated shows through an innovative booth design, fan activations, talent-driven panels and more. Our 1800-square-foot booth (#4113), inspired by the excitement and imagination streaming out of our Burbank Animation Studio, features a bold spiraling collage showcasing beloved hits like Rugrats, The Ren & Stimpy Show, Invader Zim, SpongeBob SquarePants and more, extending down to the floor from the ceiling of the convention center. For the first time, Nickelodeon will hold an open call during the convention for original animated project ideas. Nick’s animation development team will be on-site from Thursday, July 24, to Saturday, July 26, with the goal of greenlighting a pitch for its global Animated Shorts Program, which is designed to identify and develop original comedy-driven content for kids

Clearly emboldened by the success of Maleficent and without waiting to see how its latest adaptations of Cinderella or The Jungle Book perform, Disney has been digging through its animated archives again and has come up with Dumbo . Transformers: Age Of Extinction writer Ehren Kruger has been hired to turn the elephant tale into a live action adventure. Presumably, this updated take on the 1941 classic will blend CG with real-world settings to re-tell the tale of the elephant born with comically huge ears. Initially mocked for his giant lobes, Dumbo has the last laugh – and learns some important life lessons to boot – when his best pal, Timothy Q. Mouse, helps him learn how to fly.
