BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Jason Momoa Cast As Aquaman

So remember a few weeks ago when Jason Momoa made headlines because he said he was tired of being asked if he was going to play Aquaman in " Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice "? Well, he's totally playing Aquaman in " Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice ." While Warner Bros. hasn't made that announcement officially yet, HitFix can confirm that he will be playing the part, and that Zack Snyder has already finalized his designs for the character so shooting can take place soon. One of the things that has driven me crazy since the release of " Man Of Steel " is when people say that the last act of the film is a problem since there's no consequences for Superman after all of the destruction that results from his battle with Zod. I felt like it was pretty clear walking out of the theater that the next film would have to be all about consequences. I suspected that Lex Luthor would use the destruction as a way of making Superman look like

PADDINGTON Trailer is Here

After the jump, check out the first trailer for the Christmas comedy featuring the voice of Colin Firth! Adapted from Michael Bond's beloved books, "Paddington" tells the story of a polite young bear from Peru with an endearing talent for comic chaos, who arrives in London in search of a home. Paddington has grown up deep in the Peruvian jungle with his Aunt Lucy who, inspired by a chance encounter with an English explorer, has raised her nephew to cook marmalade, listen to the BBC World Service, and dream of an exciting life in London. When an earthquake destroys their home, Aunt Lucy decides the time has come to smuggle her young nephew on board a boat bound for England, in search of a better life. Trusting of the kindness of strangers, she ties a label round his neck which simply reads 'Please look after this bear. Thank you.' Lost and alone at Paddington Station, Paddington soon finds that London is not the welcoming, well-mannered land of his d

Remembering the Artist Review: Loving Remembrance That's Full of Surprises

The HBO Documentary lovingly resurrects the memory of a long-forgotten painter. We all know the story of Actor Robert DeNiro and his incredible career. But for many in the art world during the 1940's, DeNiro's father preceded his son's success as a painter. The HBO Original Programming Documentary Remembering the Artist follows the turbulent path of DeNiro Sr as he falls in and eventually out of an art scene that he helped to inspire. Documenting his meteoric rise to fame and sudden fall during the pop art minimalism of the 1960's, DeNiro Sr battled depression and acceptance of his homosexuality, eventually succumbing to cancer on his 71st birthday in 1993. Hosted by Actor Robert DeNiro and his sister Nera, the documentary introduces us to a young DeNiro Sr who blended abstract and expressionist styles, which bridged the divides between European modernism and abstract expressionism. But the effort came at a price, as the artist conflicted with dealers and o

Extended Trailer For #TheEqualizer

Sony Pictures has released an even longer trailer (about 40 seconds longer, which is a lot for a trailer) for its upcoming adaptation of the TV series, " The Equalizer ," starring Denzel Washington , which will be released on September 26, 2014. We've been pining for awhile about the upcoming reboot of the CBS spy drama The Equalizer. This 1980's series starred Edward Woodward as retired CIA operative Robert McCall who helps people in need in New York City. And while shows like Person of Interest have upped the stakes, it was The Equalizer that first set the bat. Now, we finally have a trailer from Director Antoine Fuqua's film, which stars Denzel Washington and Chloe Grace-Moretz. Based on the very good early test screenings, we think the Euro-style action and character exposition look pretty bad ass. As we look at the trailer, we see the appearance of Melissa Leo as a blonde talking to McCall: is this the famed appearance of the shadowy Control, who

Lake Los Angeles Review: Drive Past This One

Lake Los Angeles begs you to pull over and notice it. Here's why you shouldn't. Director Mike Ott's Lake Los Angeles makes the supposition that one can find love just about anywhere and under the most extreme conditions, such as the desert town of the same name. Unfortunately, his film about two illegal aliens not only feels desperate for attention but never earns our trust or concern. From the beginning, we're not promised much: Francisco (Robert Sanchez) has left Havanna hoping to make enough money to bring his wife and children to the States. At the same time, the 10-year-old Cecilia (Johanna Trujilo) arrives as an illegal who's been promised that she'll be reunited with her father. When that moment fails to arrive, Cecilia runs out into the desert, which is literally the backyard of Lake Los Angeles, until she can return to Francisco to start anew. The problem with Ott's work is that nothing here is of value, from the desolate town to it

22 Jump Street Review: Many Funny Parts But Original Is Better

The insanely funny 22 Jump Street has its many moments, but just falls behind its slightly better original. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller in 2012 transformed a long-sleeping (and frankly boring) television series into a hilarious piece of comedy, demonstrating that nearly everything has a second life. Their follow-up 22 Jump Stree t is almost as funny as the original, but that doesn't mean we like it any less. Based almost entirely around the premise that our heroes Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) must do EXACTLY the same thing that they did in 21 Jump Street , they're set out to impersonate college students looking for a drug supplier. Their captain (Ice Cube) literally commands them: "Do the same thing as last time. Exactly the same thing." Soon, they're doing just that, partying at frat houses with Schmidt screwing women and Jenko acting as the star WR on the college's football team. But their relationship soon hits the

How to Train Your Dragon 2 Review: Unexpected Twists Fuel Excellent Sequel

DreamWorks Animation hits animated paydirt with the very good How to Train Your Dragon 2 . DreamWorks Animation has hit a bit of a rough spot in the past three years. Although Mr. Peabody & Sherman ranks as one of the top animated films of 2014, the studio saw disappointing returns for 2013's Turbo and 2012's Rise of the Guardians . Granted, they do have the Madagascar series, but there's been the sense that DWA has been flailing in their search for a second franchise. Luckily, the very good How to Train Your Dragon 2 might just offer the studio exactly what it needs. Set five years after the original, Hiccup (voiced by Jay Baruchel) is grown up but not ready to take the reigns from his Viking father Stoick (voiced by Gerard Butler). To his dad, Hiccup is still a boy, content to soaring with Toothless the Dragon and hanging out with his girlfriend Astrid (voiced by America Ferrera). But soon, the two realize that rival kingdoms are gunning for their hom
