As Marvel keeps hunting for its “ Ant-Man ” director, the company continues to move forward with its next phase of films, tapping Scott Derrickson to helm “ Dr. Strange .” Talks are still early, but sources say Derrickson, who most recently directed “ Sinister ,” is Marvel’s choice and a deal should be struck shortly. Marvel had no comment. The pic will be produced by Kevin Feige, who, over the years, has repeatedly said how badly he wants to get a “Dr. Strange” movie made. Executive producers on the project are Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Alan Fine, Stan Lee and Stephen Broussard. Borgman Review By: Sue Borgman is a superbly written, directed and acted dark comedy that does not rely on any fancy special effects or mind numbing action. When a disheveled man shows up on your doorstep most people would turn him away, but when a married woman sneaks him into her home, she has no idea what she is in for. Alex van Warmerdam's Borgman is at times dark and confusing, but it is also highly entertaining and hilarious. Borgman sets up an absurd reality from the beginning, one where you aren't sure what the heck is going on. A priest and his companion hunt silently through the fields, accompanied by a braying dog. They are armed and deadly. Their quarry is Camiel Borgman ( Jan Bijvoet ), living in an underground den. As he runs from his hunters he takes time to awaken a pair of friends hidden in dens of their own. He hitches a ride to suburbia and begins going door to door asking for a bath. It’s a well the show went back to time and again in its original run, much to its detriment, so when CIA chief Steve Navarro ( Benjamin Bratt , the show’s other Julia Roberts ex) furtively dashes into that back room in the episode’s final minutes and snaps that secrecy device over his phone, we instinctively knew precisely what was about to happen. Navarro speaks to another party, their voice cloaked, concerning some conspiratorial matters involving Kate Morgan’s duplicitous former husband whom, the show has tirelessly insisted upon reminding us, sold secrets and betrayed his country. Whether or not Navarro’s mole status extends to the season’s central terror plot remains to be seen, but at least we can now stop wondering when the inevitable mole will pop out of his mole hole.
