ANGELINA JOLIE #MALEFICENT Junket Interview

TV Review: 24: Live Another Day “3:00 PM – 4:00 PM”

TV Review: 24: Live Another Day “3:00 PM – 4:00 PM” By: Brandon Wolfe Hours where Jack Bauer is sidelined are generally never the best episodes of ‘24’. Jack is the engine that makes the whole thing run, but every once in awhile, a plot development will force the writers to take Jack out of the game, as with his current military apprehension. It never lasts more than an hour, but it invariably means that the hour in question won’t be one for the time capsule. “3:00 PM – 4:00 PM” is an episode calibrated toward inching the plot forward and bringing other characters up to speed. It’s housekeeping, plain and simple, but it’s not the worst instance of ‘24’ stopping to line up its ducks. Agent Morgan successfully takes possession of the flight key before Jack is taken into custody. With help from Chloe, with whom she’s probably a bit more instantly chummy than she logically should be, she manages to upload the key’s contents to Open Cell, where Chloe finds proof of the override’

End Credit Explained For X-Men: Days of Future Past

The traditional Marvel post-credits scene at the end of X-Men: Days of Future Past made hardcore comics fans very happy, but likely left more casual viewers scratching their heads. Who was this mysterious cloaked figure seen singlehandedly (or singlemindedly) building a pyramid in the air? His name shouldn’t come as a surprise, considering that Bryan Singer announced on Twitter last December that the next X-Men movie, out in May 2016, would be called Apocalypse. Yep, that was Apocalypse , one of the X-Men comics’ most memorable villains. Who Was the Villain in the 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' Post-Credits Scene? Apocalypse is the oldest mutant in existence, pre-dating the X-Men by 5,000 years; the bonus scene shows one of his early accomplishments, with worshippers kneeling before the pale, blue-lipped young man as he constructs one of the Great Pyramids through telekinesis. The name the assembled masses chant, “ En Sabah Nur ,” translates to “ The First One .” Creat

X-Men Movies Continuity Issues

X-Men: Days of Future Past involves Wolverine time-traveling back to 1973 to change history. However, if you look at the previous six X-Men-related movies, you’ll see that the directors and writers have been messing with history all along — though not necessarily on purpose. After rewatching all seven films, we found six major incongruities that just don’t jibe — and you can’t blame Wolverine for these.   Spoilers follow for those who haven’t seen DOFP . When did Professor X and Magneto meet? In the original movie, Charles Xavier (played by Patrick Stewart ) tells Wolverine, “When I was 17, I met a young man named Erik Lehnsherr,” aka Magneto ( Ian McKellen ). But in First Class, Charles (then played by James McAvoy ) is seen as a child in 1944, and he meets Erik (Michael Fassbender) 18 years later in 1962. Director Bryan Singer takes the blame for that error, telling SciFiNow that he now regrets writing that line in the first script. When did Professor X and Magneto

TV Review: Hannibal “Mizumono” By: Brandon Wolfe

TV Review: Hannibal “Mizumono” By: Brandon Wolfe The one inevitability of Hannibal Lecter’s mythology is that he winds up incarcerated. It is how the character is thought of in popular culture, taunting and assessing from behind a barrier. In the season premiere, when we are shown that future tease of Jack Crawford engaging Hannibal in that brutal fight, we concluded that the jig was up. When we would finally arrive at that moment, the genie would be out of the bottle. There could be no going back to Hannibal the friend, Hannibal the consultant, Hannibal the psychiatrist. Regardless of how grim Jack’s situation seemed to look, this would be the moment where Hannibal Lecter ceased to be a free man. And now, having seen the season finale, the show has made fools of us yet again. Hannibal Lecter will find his way into that jail cell one day, but that day is still ahead of him. And what he leaves in his wake is a bloodbath so grand and unimaginable that had the show not been renewed,

'The Equalizer' Trailer Finally Arrives

Now this is something to get excited about. We've been pining for awhile about the upcoming reboot of the CBS spy drama The Equalizer .  This 1980's series starred Edward Woodward as retired CIA operative Robert McCall who helps people in need in New York City.  And while shows like Person of Interest have upped the stakes, it was The Equalizer that first set the bat.  Now, we finally have a trailer from Director Antoine Fuqua's film, which stars Denzel Washington and Chloe Grace-Moretz. Based on the very good early test screenings, we think the Euro-style action and character exposition look pretty bad ass.  As we look at the trailer, we see the appearance of Melissa Leo as a blonde talking to McCall: is this the famed appearance of the shadowy Control, who made McCall's life a living Hell in the series?  Leo played Sally in 2012's very good  Oblivion so now we're instantly hoping for her to repeat the memorable phrase, "Are you an effect

Chef Review: Funny But Undercooked in Parts

The cooking comedy Chef has its moments, but it's under-dressed for the occasion. A movie like the Jon Favreau comedy Chef begs for a litany of puns, so let's get them out the way. This undercooked but still flavorful comedy is missing key ingredients, resulting in something that's not quite a full meal. Carl Casper (Favreau) was an aspiring chef, a Superman Chef if you will, impressing critics and stomachs alike with his unique dishes. Unfortunately that was 10 years ago, and Casper is now heavier and a little more corporate, preparing the same dishes night after night. When local food critic Ramsey Michel (Oliver Platt) arrives for a tasting, Casper wants to make an entirely new menu, but the restaurant owner (Dustin Hoffman) wants nothing of the sort: he orders Casper to prepare his 'hits.' The result is a scathing review that insults Casper, leading him to quit after losing a Twitter war with Michel. Casper's ex-wife Inez (Sofia Vergara) fe
