BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Million Dollar Arm Review: Throws a Wild Pitch in Key Innings

Million Dollar Arm wants to inspire you. Here's why it doesn't fully accomplish its goal. Review by: Matt Cummings The story of baseball has matured over the years, once a white-only game then a highly-inclusive one made up of players from all over the world. But in the feel-good Million Dollar Arm , we learn that the final destination isn't as important as the journey, even if the story doesn't quite get that message quite right. As a sports agent, JB Bernstein (Jon Hamm) could once sell ice to an Eskimo. His slick-talking style yielded representation of former players Emmitt Smith and Barry Sanders, making him a star in a league filled with them. Unfortunately, JB's current effort to strike out on his own hasn't produced the same fruit. Stuck in front of his television after a failed negotiation, JB learns about the game of Crickett and soon realizes that India might be the last untamed resource for professional baseball players. He journeys there

First Images From The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1

They may not be ready to unleash a trailer on the world just yet – though we doubt it’ll be too long before one arrives – but the team behind The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 are at least prepared to give us a look at Julianne Moore as President Alma Coin in the film, plus a video interview with Moore (see below) and a roundtable chat with director Francis Lawrence , writer Peter Craig and producer Nina Jacobson. Watch the video & see all images after the Jump... It’s very much your standard promo material: lots of the cast and crew talking highly of each other, but you do at least learn that Craig has taken over script duties from Danny Strong, who moved onto other commitments before shooting began and someone was needed on set to work on last minute re-writes. Oh, and from the sounds of the effort involved, shooting both parts of the final Hunger Games story is quite a mammoth undertaking. As for the films – which are adapted from Suzanne Collin

TV Review: Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. “The Beginning of the End” By: Brandon Wolfe

TV Review: Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. “The Beginning of the End” By: Brandon Wolfe ‘ Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ’s’ first season stands as one of the more curious failures in recent memory. Here was a series that seemed to have every advantage laid out before it and felt poised to become the next great television phenomenon. Given the track records of both Marvel Studios and producer Joss Whedon, this should have been an easy win, yet a stifling blandness and frustrating ineptitude took hold immediately and never let up. So going into the season finale, the question taking shape was no longer what could be done to save this inaugural year at the buzzer. That ship had sailed, the damage too thorough to come back from. Thus the question became of what shape will Season 2 take. Is there any reason to hope for a brighter future from this enterprise? Basically, what assurances do we get that none of this will happen again? It’s a question that the show seemed to shift its focus to as

TV Review: From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series “Boxman” By: Brandon Wolfe

TV Review: From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series “Boxman” By: Brandon Wolfe All season long, I have been imploring ‘From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series’ to stake out its own claim and distance itself from the film that sired it. Apart from some tweaks here and there (Richie being controlled rather than insane, Sex Machine being a professor), the series has shown a frustrating reluctance to deviate from its source material in any substantial way. It never seemed to fully grasp that we’ve already seen the film and that a television series needs to establish a unique identity in order to thrive. Better movie-to-TV adaptations like ‘Hannibal’ and ‘Fargo’ understand this and give us stories evocative of the films that spawned them, yet wholly original on their own merits. ‘Dusk’ is content to merely gussy up the film that shares its name. “Boxman” is the point where ‘From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series’ officially waves bye-bye to ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ the movie. And it turns out that when the s

CINDERELLA Teaser Trailer & Poster

The teaser trailer and poster for Disney’s live-action CINDERELLA A live-action feature inspired by the classic fairy tale, “ Cinderella ” brings to life the timeless images from Disney’s 1950 animated masterpiece as fully-realized characters in a visually dazzling spectacle for a whole new generation. Watch the trailer after the Jump... The story of “Cinderella” follows the fortunes of young Ella ( Lily James ) whose merchant father remarries following the death of her mother. Eager to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new stepmother ( Cate Blanchett ) and her daughters Anastasia ( Holliday Grainger ) and Drisella ( Sophie McShera ) into the family home. But, when Ella’s father unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family. Finally relegated to nothing more than a servant girl covered in ashes, and spitefully renamed Cinderella, Ella could easily begin to lose hope. Yet, despite the cruelty inflicted upon her, Ella is

TV Recap: Supernatural "Stairway to Heaven"

TV Recap: Supernatural "Stairway to Heaven" By: Sue Dixon, Missouri. Inside an icecream shop a mother gives an elaborate order, when her son wants the same icecream as a little girl is eating nearby. The mother approaches her, but the little girl is snarky, and the mother takes offense. The girls says she’s an angel, and the mother thinks she’s kidding. A man walks in, headed her way. The little girl tries to warn the mother to leave, but it’s too late. Dean awakens Sam, its time to play. Something has gone down in Missouri and they rush in to aid castiel. As odd and dorky as Castiel is, he’s the best bet to go against Metatron. Sam isn’t happy that Dean has packed the first blade, but Dean thinks the magic stick should come. Sam wants to only use it on the boss levels, to leave it home otherwise, and Dean leaves it behind. The boys arrive at the crime scene, but there is no need for them to flash their badges. They’re expecting Agents Spears and Aguilera. Castiel sh

TV Review: Penny Dreadful "Night Work"

TV Review: Penny Dreadful "Night Work" By: Sue The title refers to the penny dreadfuls, a type of 19th century cheap British fiction publication with lurid and sensational subject matter. The pilot has been airing on Showtime all week, and let’s see just how good it is, personally I cannot wait to see Dorian Gray, his character is a favorite of mine, but its doubtful he'll show up in the first episode. A child sleeps, and a woman slips out of bed quietly so that she doesn’t wake the child. She lights a lantern, heading down the hall to the loo. Something flutters against the window. It breaks through the window, and takes the woman. The child awakens looking for her mother; she walks to the bathroom, and sees something horrible, screaming. The first glimpse of the into is full of spiders, monsters, spilled blood and bats. In other words it looks fantastically dark. Vanessa prays in another language as a spider crawls down Christ’s crucified body. The spide
