The project at Universal is apparently moving forward.  By: Matt Cummings If you caught the SyFy run of Battlestar Galactica , you were treated to something special. Complete with graying loyalties and intense action, the series followed a race of humans defeated by the technologically superior Cylons. The series brought a grittiness and unpredictability that kept fans watching right up to the lame series finale in 2007. Apparently, someone took notice. According to multiple sources, Universal is developing a film reboot of the series, and have hired Transcendence writer Jack Paglen to script the screenplay. Paglen is also involved in Ridley Scott’s Prometheus sequel for Fox that starts production this fall.  Transcendence  starring Johnny Depp and Rebecca Hall opens on April 18th. With director Ericson Core long in place, the Point Break remake is slowly starting to gather the performers it needs in its attempt to top the original’s loopy cult action appeal. The Noah actor will be tasked with inhabiting a character named – assuming they’re sticking with original film’s titles for everyone – Pappas and famously played by Gary Busey in Kathryn Bigelow’s 1991 offering. He’ll be part of the team chasing down a gang of extreme sports enthusiasts who are pulling off big crimes and led by Bodhi ( Gerard Butler ). There are strong rumours of a sequel to its colossal hit Frozen and now, according to composer Henry Jackman, a Wreck-It Ralph 2 is in the works too. The first slice of 8-bit adventure grossed $471m worldwide, a more than respectable return on its $150m+ budget.
