BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

The Conjuring's "Annabelle Doll" Spin-Off Film On It's Way

With Warner Bros. and New Line’s The Conjuring being one of the most successful horror movies of all time, it’s no surprise that a sequel was quickly put into development. The big surprise is that the studios are planning three micro-budgeted spinoffs based on the Warren Case Files, an inside source tells Bloody Disgusting exclusively. The first, which is currently untitled, will be based on the now infamous “ Annabelle Doll ”. Recently BD broke the news on John R. Leonetti‘s and John Darko‘s series “Nowheresville” ( read more ), which is now in active development – but we have also confirmed that Leonetti will share directorial duties with newcomer John Darko, our source reveals. As previously mentioned, New Line will be adopting the micro-budget approach on these projects. The tentatively titled The Annabelle Story is known to be a prequel to the events in the James Wan-directed The Conjuring . And we hear that production may start as early as December with John R. Leonetti

New Concept Art For The Warcraft Film

This weekend was the annual Blizzcon event , which lets fans of Warcraft, StarCraft and other Blizzard Entertainment titles come together to swap stories, ogle new product and be shown presentations of upcoming games and expansions. With the Warcraft movie now on track for 2015, director Duncan Jones took time out from pre-production to hit Los Angeles and introduce some new concept art for the movie version and discuss his ideas. Talking about the script to an audience that included reporters from gaming site Kotaku, Jones explained that he wanted to bring balance to a screenplay that was, at first, very human-centric. "It's about both sides. It's going to be red and blue." See all the images after the Jump... Jones had also brought along some of his crew, including special effects supervisor Bill Westenhofer (a confirmed fan of the game), who explained that the majority of the Orcs will be created using actors in makeup instead of CGI, with swords alr

Universal Pictures has tapped the director of one of the studio’s most lucrative and successful franchises to take on the fifth installment of The Bourne Identity franchise . Justin Lin will direct the sequel to the Tony Gilroy-directed The Bourne Legacy , the pic that kicked off storyline of Aaron Cross, the character played by Jeremy Renner . Renner is set to return as Cross in a story hatched by ‘Invictus’ and ‘Sherlock Holmes’ scribe Anthony Peckham. Frank Marshall and Captivate Entertainment’s Ben Smith and Jeffrey Weiner are also back as producers, and Lin also will produce through his Perfect Storm banner. I’m hearing a summer 2015 release is being eyed for this one, though the studio is saying it doesn’t know when it will open. Universal chairman Donna Langley, co-president of production Peter Cramer, and VP Production Anikah McLaren will oversee the project for the studio. Bourne Legacy , released in 2012, grossed $276 million worldwide. Lin has plenty of fans at Univer

The Desolation Of Smaug New Featurette

Of all the many promotional partners lined up to market the second Hobbit film, The Desolation Of Smaug , US restaurant chain Denny’s always seemed like a weird one. Still, it promises wide exposure and in addition to Hobbit-themed menus (honest), it has also been handed some exclusive featurette footage. So here’s a piece about Beorn’s home. Beorn, for those who have recently been clubbed by a dwarf and may be unaware, is a “skinchanger”, a shape shifter who interacts with Gandalf and co on their quest in the film. Played by Mikael Persbrandt. Given that he is, as Ian McKellen describes him, "A man who is sometimes a bear, and a bear who is sometimes a man,” he naturally needs an unusually large dwelling. Which means some creative filmmaking as usual from the production team. In the featurette, Peter Jackson and some of his cast and crew talk about the experience of shooting in it, and there’s even a little behind-the-scenes footage, including Martin Freeman giving one of

Netflix & Marvel Team Up For Four Marvel Miniseries

Exciting news for Netflix subscribers (*other streaming sites are available) with the announcement of a huge production partnership deal with Marvel . The studio’s TV arm and the TV Network are developing four 13-part superhero series, kicking off in 2015. Those will lead into what they’re calling “a miniseries programming event”, a version of Marvel’s The Defenders that “reimagines a dream team of self-sacrificing, heroic characters”. The first Marvel cab off the Netflix rank will be a 13-part Daredevil series, followed by Jessica Jones , Iron Fist and Luke Cage . For Marvel fans, this means years of viewing ahead and a vow by Netflix that readers will be taken “deep into the gritty world of heroes and villains of Hell’s Kitchen, New York”. So who are these people? Well, allow us to explain a little. Daredevil is, of course, the superhero blinded in an accident as a child, who was left withe super-sensitive hearing that allows him to be hyper-aware of his surroundings. Crusadi

Ride Along Trailer Starring Kevin Hart & Ice Cube

What happens when you cast Kevin Hart as a loud-mouthed school security guard together with hard-nosed cop Ice Cube ? Well, the new action comedy Ride Along hopes it equals laughs. Hart is Ben, a man more used to dealing with schoolyard squabbles than major crime. He also happens to be head over heels in love with Angela ( Tika Sumpter ), and intends to marry her, but there’s just one small problem: her big brother James ( Cube ). Singularly unimpressed with the “Smurf” his sister has chosen to spend his life with, James decides that the only way Ben can prove himself worthy, now that he's joined the police academy, is to come on a ride-along. After the necessary preparation montage, the pair hits the streets. Our worries that this one seems overly generic aren’t dispelled by the new promo: even with Hart’s live-wire delivery and Cube’s typically tough-guy stuff, we still feel like we’ve seen every joke before. The whole film will, like Ben, have to prove itself when i
