Check Out Our List Of The Best For 2013 So Far

Check Out Our List Of The Best For 2013 So Far By: MattInRC I realize the calendar on the fridge reads 'July' and not 'December,' but who cares? In a year that's seen some terrific films, 2013 is shaping up to be a better year overall than 2012. We've done a dizzying 49 theatrical reviews so far, and from that list we've come up with our top 10. Of course, we think this list will change as the second half of the year gets underway, but for now, they're the Best of 2013. Before we get started, a quick note: we did not have access to 2012's Zero Dark Thirty until January 9th, so we'll call one of our pinch hitters in to sub out. 10. Stoker ( Click here for a full review ) One of the most bizarre films in recent memory, Stoker is one part murder mystery, another odd sexual romp. Here's the deal: after the death of her father, India's uncle Charlie arrives to live with her and the unstable but sexually available mother.

Monsters University Easter Eggs Revealed

Regular Pixar viewers know that certain in-jokey references crop up over and over again in their films. And with Monsters University already out in the US, we've got our hands on the pictures showing this film's Easter eggs. First up is the most famous: the reference A113 . This was the classroom at CalArts where the animation programme was based - and since John Lasseter and Brad Bird, among others, were graduates of the programme, it has become a tradition to reference it in Pixar films (in Brave, it was rendered in Roman numerals). Here, it's the number of the classroom for Scarers at Monsters University. Next there's a clear look at the bouncy ball from Luxo Jr, Pixar's first Oscar nominee and only their second film. It's scribbled on the wall behind the presenters as they introduce the first event in the "Scare Games". Finally, and hardest to spot, is the Pizza Planet truck parked in a driveway during a fraternity party. The t

TERMINATOR To Return In 2015

Paramount has confirmed the long in the works deal to co finance and distribute the reboot of James Cameron’s Terminator franchise creation. Highbrow picture maker Megan Ellison spent over $20 million for the rights in 2011, and the project didn't go very far. Things finally started percolating when Megan Ellison and her Annapurna Pictures joined forces with brother David Ellison, whose Skydance Productions has a deal with Paramount and makes popcorn movies. Avatar’s Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier have been working on the script for months. Arnold Schwarzenegger returns as the title character and the hope is to get at least two movies done before North American copyright reverts back to Cameron, who might want a fortune or might want to retire the franchise. Here’s the announcement: Skydance Productions, Annapurna Pictures and Paramount Pictures have jointly announced they will partner on a rebooted “ TERMINATOR ” movie, to be released by Paramount Pictures on June 26

Joel Edgerton To Join Michael Shannon In The Untitled Jeff Nichols Film

After receiving praise for his scene-stealing role as Tom Buchanan in Warner Bros. “ The Great Gatsby ,” WB is ready to stay in business with Joel Edgerton , as the actor is in negotiations to co-star with Michael Shannon in the untitled Jeff Nichols pic. Sarah Green and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones are producing with Nichols, who’s also writing the project. WB had previously acquired the script before setting Nichols to direct. Exact plot details are being kept under wraps but sources have described it as a present-day sci-fi chase film. Glen Basner and Christos V. Konstantakopoulos will exec produce. The news made headlines last month when the studio picked up the project, given that it was the first major studio movie for Nichols after the success of indies “Take Shelter” and “Mud.” Edgerton’s commitment gives the project even more heft, and it looks on track to start production early next year. Edgerton is currently shooting “Jane Got a Gun” and is also attached to the Whitey Bul
