The Bourne Legacy Legacy Blu-Ray Review By: MattInRC The disappointing  Bourne Legacy  delivers excellent audio and video for a film I wish was better. As a fan of Intelli-Action (fast-paced AND smartly dialogued action cinema), I have enjoyed the Bourne series because it's essentially moved the action genre into a more intelligent direction, giving old tired franchises like James Bond new life. Watch  Casino Royale  to witness the renaissance courtesy of Jason Bourne. Thus it seemed like a strange moment when the lights came on after the satisfying  The Bourne Ultimatum  had concluded. Audiences were left to wonder as to the future of a franchise when its main character was essentially vindicated. The answer from Universal would take five years to arrive, as  The Bourne Legacy  would not reset the franchise, but rather move it in a different but no less familiar direction. That big-screen Justice League flick might still be looking for a director, but writer Will Beale is hard at work on the script—and rumor has it this is the storyline he's adapting. Latino Review reports that Beale is looking to some classic 1980s Justice League comics for inspiration, specifically Justice League of America issues 183-185, written by Gerry Conway and illustrated by George Perez. The storyline centers on a plot by Darkseid to destroy the Earth, which at least meshes with other rumors that have hinted Darkseid could be the story's Big Bad. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Review By: MattInRC The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is big on imagery, long on talk, and falls short in a couple of critical areas. But go see it anyways. Upon watching the first trailer for Fall's highly anticipated The Hobbit , I was hesitant to grant it any credit beyond mere curiosity. Its older brother, the incredible Lord of the Rings trilogy, occupies a special place on most filmgoers' top 20 lists. The series touched audiences in a way that still reverberates throughout Hollywood: one cannot watch a Medieval war-epic made after 2003 without seeing LOTR's footprints somewhere. It was with this pedigree that a slow and confusing trailer appeared earlier this year, touching off speculation that perhaps Director Peter Jackson's lightning in a bottle had been spent. And while The Hobbit is slow at parts and missing any memorable action sequences, its heart still beats with the resounding pulse of Middle-earth.
