BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Tom Hardy Is Heading To The Bush

Warner Bros is working on not one but two high-profile films about the illegal poaching and trafficking in endangered animals around the world. Both projects are being produced by Tobey Maguire‘s Material Pictures, Leonardo DiCaprio‘s Appian Way and Tom Hardy‘s Executive Options. I don’t know if both of these projects get made, but at a time when Hollywood studios are preoccupied with pretend crises like zombies and vampires, bravo for a major to step up and try to weave in a global problem like ivory trafficking into a drama. The first project is being written by Up In The Air co-writer Sheldon Turner as a star vehicle for Hardy , based on an idea by the Dark Knight Rises and Warrior star. The untitled film is set in Africa and the aim is for Hardy to play a former Special Forces soldier who signs on with a friend to work in the bush, training rangers to fight off the poachers decimating the rhino and elephant populations in Zimbabwe. The soldier falls in love with the land,

Black Dynamite 2 Heads To The Wild West

Michael Jai White has joked in the past that the sequel to Black Dynamite will be "blacker and dynamitier." But we shouldn't take that to mean it'll necessarily chronicle the further adventures of the titular CIA 'Nam vet however. According to White, it's likely that the next film will be a Western . Black Dynamite , if you're unlucky enough not to have caught it so far, is a blaxploitation spoof in which BD, on the trail of his brother's killer, foils a dastardly plot involving Anaconda malt liquor, the kung-fu island of Fiendish Dr Wu, and Nixon's White House. Arsenio Hall co-starred as Tasty Freeze, with Bokeem Woodbine as Black Hand Jack and Tommy Davidson as Cream Corn. If you want further adventures from those characters, there's an animated spin-off, but next? "In the inception of Black Dynamite, there were a few types of ideas we were going to do," White tells CraveOnline . "Kind of like Monty Python, [we thou

As packages firm up for AFM, here’s one that will surely reverberate in Santa Monica. Robert Pattinson is signing on to star with Carey Mulligan in Hold On To Me . The film will be directed by James Marsh, who won an Oscar for the docu Man On Wire and followed with Project Nim. Pic is based on a true story about a femme fatale who with her boyfriend kidnaps and ransoms the town’s richest man. They bury him in a box and things go horribly awry. Pattinson plays the flashy supporting role of the woman’s life love, Jimmy, who isn’t involved in the crime. The project was scripted by Brad Ingelsby. Alexandra Milchan is producing with Indian Paintbrush‘s Steven Rales, Mark Roybal and Michael Pruss. Also producing is Todd Field, who originally developed the film to direct but stepped off to helm Creed Of Violence for Cross Creek. Pattinson adds this to an early 2013 schedule that will have him starring opposite Guy Pearce in the David Michod-directed The Rover, and he is also starring

Amy Adams To Play Janis Joplin In Upcoming Film

Lee Daniels is in talks to direct Get It While You Can , a Janis Joplin biopic that has Amy Adams attached to star as the queen of rock 'n' roll. Robert Katz and Andrew Sugerman are producing along with Ron Terry, who wrote the screenplay with his wife, Theresa Kounin-Terry. Jay Tobin is exec producing. Joplin was the hard-living singer behind such rock classics as " Piece of My Heart " and " Me and Bobby McGee ." She crested on the wave of the 1960s counterculture as one of the faces of hippiedom, and she performed at Woodstock. Joplin, who has influenced artists ranging from Stevie Nicks to Florence Welch (of Florence + the Machine), died of a heroin overdose in 1970, just weeks after Jimi Hendrix succumbed to his drug demons, giving a one-two punch to the face of the Age of Aquarius. Daniels' involvement is the latest development for the project, which over the years has had Fernando Meirelles and Catherine Hardwicke attached as directors
