THE MASTER Review By: RAMA

THE MASTER Review By: RAMA Let's find out what RAMA thought of THE MASTER . I’m not sure why people are fussing about how this movie may have been intended to make fun of Scientology, because I certainly don’t see it that way. I’m not defending Scientology, but THE MASTER is not about a certain specific denomination, it’s about more than that, it’s about writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson’s exploring how aimless and purposeless life was for soldiers post-WWII, how that longing for something greater than themselves can be easily taken advantage of by a false belief system. I see THE MASTER as PTA’s way of telling everybody to not simply take things as they are given to you but to keep investigating to see if there’s any truth to it, THE MASTER is PTA’s way of studying the influencer and the influenced, how even the leader doesn’t fully control his own destiny, I think PTA is more interested in the two lead characters’ affecting and desperately needing and feeding off each

Nathan Fillion Talks Guardians Of The Galaxy

Fans are itching for Nathan Fillion to star in a live-action Marvel movie. In the past, he's worked with Joss Whedon (Firefly, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog) and James Gunn (Slither, Super), who are both on the studio's payroll. Gunn is slated to direct Guardians of the Galaxy , so we're all wondering whether Fillion's on his cast list. At the moment, Fillion has his hands full with ABC's Castle . But when hiatus hits, would he be open to a Guardians appearance? The actor told MTV, "I'm very busy right now with a job that I'm grateful for. I've made a commitment [to Castle] and I have to see it through. And I'm really happy to." Fillion recently spoke to Gunn about his Marvel gig and claims to have the inside scoop. "We had dinner the other night and he told me all about it, before everyone found out," he said. "I was on the inside on that one. Over some toro, tuna belly, we discussed how excited he is, how nervous

SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN Blu-ray Review By: MattInRC

SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN Blu-ray Review By: MattInRC SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN sports an excellent transfer, but is it good enough for your video shelf? I have to admit that I'm not a fan of Kristen Stewart . Oft maligned as pouty and just plain boyish, the star of Twilight fails to impress: watching her other bore-fests, such as Adventureland, nearly put me to sleep. But Snow White and the Huntsman, the second film in 2012 about a rebellious princess and her monstrous stepmother, is different, sporting an impressive home release that improves from its initial theatrical run. The Movie - 4/5 While Mirror Mirror set a more fanciful tone, Snow White is very much a Grimm fairy tale. It's dark, brooding, violent, and makes the best use of each character's faults and dark corners. In the end, the product is effective and fun to watch, even if it might contain plot holes big enough to race a Bridge Troll through. After murdering the king on their honeymoon, Queen

Arbitrage Review. You Will Be Surprised

Arbitrage Review By: MattInRC Arbitrage is a thriller that ignores convention with an ending that might surprise you in its arrogance. On the surface, hedge fund Robert Miller ( Richard Gere , The Double) appears to have it all. He's the king of finance, having been richly rewarded for his investment schemes and the center of attention during a CNBC interview; and, he is a happily-married father, celebrating his 60th birthday surrounded by wife Ellen ( Susan Sarandon , Thelma and Louise) and daughter Brooke ( Brit Marling , Another Earth) . But, hidden underneath that thick facade are some painful realities: he's desperate to sell the company before both his clients and the FTC realize that he's lost millions of dollars, and even his marriage is a sham, furthered by his ongoing affair with a struggling French artist (newcomer Laetitia Casta ) whom he supports. When Miller and girlfriend are involved in a fatal car accident, he calls an unlikely source, the son o
