BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Wonder Woman Coming To CW

A year after NBC rejected David E. Kelley's Wonder Woman , the CW is prepping its own take on the DC Comics super hero. Grey's Anatomy's Allan Heinberg is attached to write Amazon (working title), an origin story about Wonder Woman's alter ego Diana of Themyscira, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. As first reported by Vulture, the project will focus on Wonder Woman as a budding hero rather than the already established personality that existed in Kelley's take that starred Friday Night Lights' Adrianne Palicki . "As well crafted and contemporized as it was, it was a big and radical shift for viewers to embrace this new idea -- and that may, to some degree, have had to do with why it didn’t make it," Warner Bros. TV president Peter Roth told THR last year, noting at the time that Wonder Woman's future at another network was to be determined. The CW's Amazon is in the early stages of development and there is no script order attached

Renee Zellweger Has 4 1/2 Minutes

Actor-turned-director story numero uno of the day: Though Renee Zellweger has occasionally dipped her toes into the producing waters on films she works on, she hasn’t shown much interest in directing. But apparently she was just keeping it quiet, as the actress has now signed on to star in and shoot 4 1/2 Minutes . While lots of people get their first taste of megaphone wielding via shorts, that’s actually the title of a new comedy and not the running time. Written by Warrior’s Anthony Tambakis, the plot will be based on the life of real-life stand-up comic Dov Davidoff (who worked on the story). Johnny Knoxville will star as Jimmy Bennett, a commitment-shy comedian whose life is one big disaster area. But then he takes a job looking after the genius child spawned by single mother PJ Anderson (Zellweger). Assuming everything comes together, Zellweger will be calling action for the first time in New York next February. Please Leave A Comment- Source- Empire

The cult-fave comic was known for its surreal storylines and adult sexuality, was a bona fide hit in the 1970s and remains an influential sci-fi property to this day. Safe House Sequel In The Works

Universal is working on a follow-up to one of its biggest domestic hits of 2012, Safe House . David Guggenheim , who wrote the original script while working a day job as an editor at Us Weekly, is back to pen the as-yet-untitled sequel. Scott Stuber is returning as producer via his Universal-based Bluegrass Films. The action-thriller original followed a bored young CIA agent ( Ryan Reynolds ) overseeing a South African safe house who is thrust into a life-and-death adventure when he has to keep a rogue agent ( Denzel Washington ) safe. Directed by Daniel Espinosa, Safe House made $126 million domestically and $202 million worldwide. Reynolds likely would return to star in the sequel, though a source says no deal has been made. Washington’s involvement is less clear because (spoiler alert) his character didn't survive the first movie. Sources say the studio is keen to have Washington involved, however. All parties were mum as to whether the new project would be a prequel

Michael Emerson To Voice The Joker In The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2

Michael Emerson 's latest gig is no joke. The man best known as Lost's über-manipulator Ben Linus and Person of Interest's calculating Harold Finch is taking on one of pop culture's most iconic villains, the Joker , in the upcoming animated DVD-movie Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2 . In the film, a harrowing adaptation of Frank Miller's seminal 1986 DC Comics series, the depraved Clown Prince of Crime renews his rivalry with an aging Batman, who has just reemerged in Gotham City after a decade. (Part 2 comes out in early 2013; Part 1 is available Sept. 25 on DVD, Blu-ray, digital download and on demand.) "He's one of those great villains that an actor like me likes to play because he has layers — he has a face for the world and a face for himself," the Emmy-winning Emerson says of the Joker. "He is, in a way, a villain who is a natural actor. All of that is that is delightful and confounding at the same time." Playing the unbri

Justice League & Transformers Crossover That Could Have Been

File this one under "Please Don't Let It Die." Comic artist Phil Jimenez pitched an epic idea of joining the ranked realms of Superman and Batman with the Autobots and Decepticons . But it was killed in committee. Here's why ... The tricky world of corporate licensing is the prime reason this dream project won't see any starlight. DC Comics passed on the recent crossover pitch, no doubt due to legal wrangling with IDW Publishing, which owns the Transformers comic license, Hasbro, which owns the master license, and their mega marketing partner Marvel. Any way you slice it, the mere sight of a titanic, rampaging Bat-former, Optimus Prime sporting a Green Lantern ring or Megatron waving a torn Superman cape makes us misty. "Oh, what an epic that would have been," wrote Jimenez on Twitter . "You missed out on Wonder Woman's invisible jet becoming a very cool Transformer." Please Leave A Comment- Source- Blastr Via CBM

The White Queen Coming To Starz

Starz is betting on The White Queen . In keeping with the premium cable network's straight-to-series strategy, Starz has ordered 10 episodes of a drama adapted from Philippa Gregory's New York Times best-selling novel series, The Cousins War .
