DiCaprio, Maguire & Hardy To Team Up

Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Tom Hardy are teaming up to produce an untitled animal-trafficking drama set up at Warner Bros., sources tell The Hollywood Reporter . Hardy came up with the idea, inspired by friends who are former Special Forces operatives and went on to become anti-poaching fighters in South Africa and other nations. The goal, say sources, is to make a movie in the vein of Traffic , Steven Soderbergh’s multistory take on the various impacts of the war on drugs. In this case, the story would look at everything from the ground war on poachers in the African savanna to how animal material ends up in the fashion houses of Paris. It's unclear whether DiCaprio, Maguire or Hardy would act in the movie. A search for a writer has begun. DiCaprio and Maguire are lifelong pals but rarely have worked together, though both are starring in The Great Gatsby for Warners, which is set for release in summer 2013. DiCaprio also is longtime animal-rights activist.

Star Wars: Episode II & III 3D Get A Release Date

It's easy to forget, but earlier this year, George Lucas , in his infinite wisdom, re-released cosmic disappointment " Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace " into theaters, this time converted to snazzy 3D. Because, you know, everyone wanted Jar Jar Binks up in their shit. While it didn't hang around in theaters for very long, this new version of ' Phantom Menace ' did eek out a pretty healthy profit (almost $45 million), which doesn't come close to touching the haul that "The Lion King" made last year in a similar 3D run, it's still pretty damn good, especially because, at this point, it's just printing its own money. Well, Lucas will be returning to that well for the remainder of the prequel trilogy, with the official Lucas Twitter account announcing September and October 2013 releases for 3D versions of "Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones" and "Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith ." Wachowskis Brothers In The Justice League Running?

Warner Bros. remains committed to getting its Justice League film off the ground, and is even now running down the list of possible directors. But just as one director has taken himself out of the running, others are reportedly being considered, with the Wachowskis said to be definite candidates. But let’s deal with who has definitely decided against the film first, shall we? That would be Ben Affleck, who talked to the Canadian press and said, “It sounds really exciting, but it's not something I'm working on.” As to the Wachowskis? Their possible involvement has been picked up by Moviehole, but it’s all still rumour for now. While we’re certain their names would be on Warners’ list (especially given their history with the studio and their avowed love for comic book characters), they’re not known for leaping onto other peoples’ projects, preferring to self-generate their own movies. And while the studio is apparently high on the duo following the positive buzz for Cloud

Premium Rush Review. Is It Worth The Ride? By: MattInRC

Premium Rush Review. Is It Worth The Ride? By: MattInRC Welcome Back MattInRC . Does Premium Rush live up to the adrenaline-filled ads, or does it get stuck in New York traffic? Warning: major spoilers ahead. Premium Rush ponders an interesting question: can odd genres really build a following? Chariots of Fire featured men running on the beach; Beerfest featured beer drinkers in their natural element. But unlike these cinematic masterpieces, a movie about the life of bicycle messengers might not attract the 18-26 demographic, many of whom might have recently said goodbye to their childhood Cadillacs. There's a reason why Hollywood hasn't made a messenger bike movie since 1986's Quicksilver ; perhaps two-and-half decades was long enough to try again. The result is something between mindless action pap and dra-medy, a film with interesting potential that loses steam on the final leg. When bike messenger Wilee ( Joseph Gordon Levitt , Inception) picks up a m

Spaceballs 25th Anniversary Edition Blu-Ray Review By: MattInRC

Spaceballs Blu-Ray Review By: MattInRC The terrific classic Spaceballs arrives with superior video and sound, and enough special features to impress even Dark Helmet. The Movie - 4/5 It goes without saying that Spaceballs ranks among my top comedies. Rich with spoofiness and unapologetic in its slaying of Sci-Fi films like Star Trek, Star Wars, and Planet of the Apes, director/writer/actor Mel Brooks (Blazing Saddles) created an instant classic filled with his always memorable Jewish shtick. Its jokes are like a freight train whose conductor doesn't care whether the brakes were checked prior to his departure, causing unending laughter to those of us who fondly remember its initial release in 1987. It's so absurd and ridiculous, thriving on the sustenance of a myriad of guffaws that one can barely keep up, while at the same time demonstrating a wonderfully ingenious self-awareness, that one is constantly brought to the edge of tears. For those of you who think raunchy
