Josh Gad To Play Steve Wozniak

There was consternation and cries of “it must be an April Fool’s joke!” when Ashton Kutcher was announced as the actor to play the late Apple overlord Steve jobs in Joshua Michael Stern’s Jobs. We’re guessing there’ll be much less outcry greeting the news that Josh Gad is in talks to play another key figure in the early days of the company, co-founder Steve Wozniak . Woz , as he’s long since become known, first became friends with Jobs when they worked together at Hewlett Packard in 1970. Jobs wanted to forge ahead with his idea to sell a computer as a fully assembled kit, which Wozniak wasn’t sure would work. But after Jobs convinced him, he threw in his lot and the pair began to work on their prototypes for what eventually became the Apple I. On April 1, 1976, the pair founded Apple Computers together and began a 12-year business partnership, which was temporarily imperilled when Woz was injured in a small plane crash. Though he’s since said that he and Jobs were not close fr

Safe Movie Review By: RAMA

Safe Movie Review By: RAMA What did RAMA think of the movie? Usually with Jason Statham movies, you can use one review for all of them, ’cause you pretty much get the same deal. Only Jason Statham could make one man vs. 20 people look ridiculous and exciting at the same time. But let’s face it, those of us who grew up watching Sly, Arnold, and Bruce kickin’ ass left and right, kinda miss those good ol days, but thankfully Statham stepped up and answered the call. SAFE , which hits theaters this weekend, is a flawed but a high adrenaline rush that will entertain action fans everywhere… A second-rate cage fighter on the mixed martial arts circuit, Luke Wright lives a numbing life of routine beatings and chump change…until the day he blows a rigged fight. Wanting to make an example of him, the Russian Mafia murders his family and banishes him from his life forever, leaving Luke to wander the streets of New York destitute, haunted by guilt, and tormented by the knowledge that he w

Julianne Moore Offered Role In Carrie

It isn’t a big surprise, but MGM has formally offered Julianne Moore the nightmarish religious fanatic mother in the Kimberly Peirce-directed remake of the 1976 film Carrie. Chloe Moretz is already set to play the title character, a young woman whose devastating telepathic powers rear up when she reaches puberty. Kevin Misher is producing. Moore’s name has been in the mix for a while, but at the time MGM maintained it was talking to numerous actresses. Now, they’ve sent Moore the script and a pay or play offer to play Margaret White, the role that Piper Laurie rode to an Oscar nomination. (Moore just got done playing Sarah Palin in the Jay Roach-directed HBO film Game Change, but Margaret White makes the former vice presidential candidate seem like a raging liberal.) The film is based on the 1974 Stephen King novel that was first filmed by director Brian De Palma. Sissy Spacek played Carrie White, and both she and Laurie got Oscar noms.
