BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Prometheus Get To Know David

Fox is kicking the viral campaign for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus up a notch with a brand new video, and Mashable has the exclusive. The studio has crafted an awesome — and creepy — advertisement for “David,” the latest generation android from the fictitious Weyland Corporation. The ad introduces us to David, played by Michael Fassbender , who serves as the butler and maintenance man on the ship at the center of the film. Prometheus , which hits theaters on June 8, 2012, is said to have elements or “DNA” from Scott’s earlier film Alien. The film follows the crew of the spaceship Prometheus as they explore an advanced alien civilization while searching for the origins of humanity. To promote the film, Fox has worked hard to develop an intricate viral marketing campaign. In February, attendees at TED got to view a TEDTalk from the future , by way of a video set in 2023. That talk was given by Guy Pearce , who plays the CEO of the Weyland Corporation in the film. Fox is also put

Mark Ruffalo Is The Foxcatcher

While Mark Ruffalo has become the first actor to truly play both Bruce Banner and his big green alter-ego The Hulk in Avengers Assemble , he portrayed the raging beast through the magic of performance capture, not a steady diet of steroids and steaks (or gamma radiation for the truly method). But he might be looking at a new exercise regime if he signs on to based-on-truth drama Foxcatcher for director Bennett Miller. The Moneyball filmmaker has been developing the movie for a few years now with Capote writer Dan Futterman and E Max Frye. Foxcatcher aims to tell the true story of John du Pont ( Steve Carell ), the heir to a chemical fortune who suffered from attacks of paranoid schizophrenia. During one such fit in 1996, he shot and killed his friend, Olympic wrestler David Schultz ( Ruffalo , if he locks in a deal). While earlier reports had it that the movie’s title was inspired by one of du Pont’s factories, it was actually the name of the wrestling facility – Team Foxcatche

Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride Coming To The Big Screen

Disney has feature film plans for Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride , one of its longest-running theme park rides. The studio has set iconic commercials and video director Pete Candeland to develop a live-action/CGI mix feature that will bring to life a theme park ride that originated in Disneyland on its opening in 1955. The twisting, turning ride was also popular at Walt Disney World in Florida, but the geniuses at the park closed the ride in 1998 and replaced it with The Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh, which by comparison is a 10-minute nap for parents. Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride is based on Disney’s adaptation of The Wind In The Willows . Tron: Legacy producer Justin Springer will produce Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, and the studio is looking for a writer to draft the plot into a film. Disney, which turned its Pirates Of The Caribbean attraction into a billion-dollar feature franchise, has a version of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea with David Fincher among several percolating projects inspired by the

DreamWorks Has The Need For Speed

Having just secured a fresh line of financing from moneybags backers Reliance, DreamWorks is now off to the film rights sweetshop, intending to splurge on some new projects. The first rainbow coloured treat has caught the company’s eye is the chance to make a movie based on Electronic Arts’ racing game series Need For Speed . Real Steel writer John Gatins has been involved with the project from the start, developing a script with brother George. The Speed console franchise is up to 18 entries now, with EA still planning to release one game a year. The titles haven’t traditionally had much in the way of narrative besides winning races, upgrading cars, steering clear of the cops etc. But the latest, The Run has added some more story elements, with actors Sean Faris and Christina Hendricks voicing characters involved in a race from San Francisco to New York that also involves crime, cops and – for the first time in the games’ history – a proper way to move on foot. It’s not known

Breaking Dawn Part II Getting Re-Shoots

Filming for the final Twilight film technically ended last year, but apparently it still needs some tweaks, so the crew is gearing up for a final round of reshoots. So what does the director have to say about the last minute touchups? Bill Condon , director of the upcoming Breaking Dawn Part II , has posted on his Facebook page that the sparkly vamp team is heading back to Vancouver to nail down a few more shots. Apparently, after spending some time in the editing room, Condon figured out he didn't have all the snippets he needed for a smooth cut. "A film is a lot like a puzzle, with each piece—each shot, no matter how brief—needing to fit exactly with the ones around it. Our Part Two puzzle is finally coming into full view, and in a few weeks we'll be heading back north to pick up some additional shots—the last tiny missing pieces. We're not shooting any new scenes or dialogue, just some technical work with some of our cast and stunt actors," he wrote. &

Danny McBride Is A Clown

Warner Bros has acquired remake rights to the Danish film and TV series Klovn . The studio has set Danny McBride to write and star in Clown , a film he will produce through his Rough House banner along with Todd Phillips and his Green Hat Films. The film follows the basic premise of the Mikkel Nørgaard-directed film, a concept created by Casper Christensen and Frank Hvam, who’ll also be producers on the project. The logline: two men and a 13-year old boy embark on an R-rated vacation. In the original film that followed the TV series, Casper and Frank plan a canoeing trip deemed “Tour de Pussy” in which they plan to party hard and have as much sex as possible. Then, Frank discovers his girlfriend is pregnant and wants to get rid of the baby. She’ll only relent if he can prove he’ll be a worthy father. Frank’s answer is to take her 11-year old son on the canoe trip, but he and his buddy don’t change any of their plans for debauchery. The film was widely compared to The Hangover, and
